thought I'd scratch everyone's brains on here again before messaging RSC, though I think this is more a software fault on my PC than anything RW is doing! I simply cannot start it, soon as I click on the icon I get the dreaded RailWorks has stopped working notification, with the only option to close the program so no way of doing any form of diagnosis.. I haven't played it in a few weeks so no idea what has caused this, again!
But... the same issue happened with Windows Messenger, I got a strange side by side configuration error, it's the 2nd time this has happened.. and the last time I fixed it I had to delete .Net etc and do a fresh install, it fixed the messenger but killed RW by needing .Net to be installed again.. which I done, easily fixed!
It's happened again now and this time RW has died without me fixing windows messenger beforehand, I've reinstalled .Net again and immediately get the error that it doesn't work, I'm not the most windows vista friendly person (i'm an apple geek, me and microsoft just don't get on..) so I'm quite lost with what to do now to fix it, I don't really want to resort to doing a complete reinstall as I'd lose too much and don't have room to do a backup too, any ideas?
I'm stumped (again..) Railworks refuses to start.

Hi
I am not that good at sorting out PC problems either but if you have not checked out the UKTS FAQ's yet then there may be an answer there.

If you have created or altered a scenario recently, manually delete it (or move it away to a safe place). A corrupt scenario can sopetimes stop Railworks loading.

I wouldn't know how too thankfully! I literally just hadn't played it for a few weeks and went to try it out yesterday, I've had a good read through the FAQs too but there's absolute nothing there relevant to me sadly!Carinthia wrote:If you have created or altered a scenario recently, manually delete it (or move it away to a safe place). Ah, that mention of "a few weeks" has made me think.
In recent weeks there has been a major update which can take a little while to complete and maybe you are stuck in mid-flow. There is a lot of discussion elsewhere with problems people say they have had - no point in me repeating them because I had no problems myself. Take a look around recent threads on the forum, the answer may be there.

Nah I had it running after the core update, though admittedly since then it's ran a lot worse for me! I think it's just my computer dying to be honest now
it's something software related with microsoft, not RW itself
