Re: Question about Cologne-Dusseldorf route add-on
I have just bought this as part of the special bundle.
I have Windows XP 32 bit, Pentium D 3.4 ghz, 2 GB of Ram and a 1 GB Nvidia Geforce GTS 450 graphics card, well below the recommended specs quoted. I find I can run this route in the Cologne area pretty smoothly with graphics detail on 10 with most other settings on low to off. It is showing 14 fps which I find is acceptably smooth and playable! The small portion of the route I have driven so far looks to be nicely constructed certainly from the cab. Certainly at the sale price it is worth a punt IMHO!
Peter.

Just a warning, if it is constantly showing 14 fps, it's probably going slower than that. The program requires a minimum of 14 frames for every simulated second, and if going slower than that you'll probably see the game running slower than real time because each second will last as long as it takes the computer to show 14 frames.the organist wrote:... Thanks, I thought I had read that somewhere. It seems to run smoothly enough which I am most concerned about. Most routes I find run around 18-28 which is fine for me.Just a warning, if it is constantly showing 14 fps, it's probably going slower than that. I think for a payware route, even at half price, it falls well below expected standards. The gradients on some of the ramps are pathetic. Was thinking of buying the upcoming Aerosoft Berlin -Wittenberg route but after seeing Aerosoft's Cologne route I will have to rethink it. The included BR143's sounds are also rubbish.

Re: Question about Cologne-Dusseldorf route add-on
There is a patch for the 143 sounds on railsim.de if anyone needs it and isn't aware. As far as I am aware the Berlin route is being done by a different team, the development blog is here http://bahnjan.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/s ... wenig.html , I think that eventually the route will go to Leipzig, but the first part will go to Wittenburg.
Re: Question about Cologne-Dusseldorf route add-on
So far so good, but I drove a stopping service from Cologne, and straight after passing a caution signal at the platform end, I got an emergency brake application as I got on the Rhine Bridge.
It seems I'm not getting an AWS warning tone, and yes, I am driving it from the cab. Randomly pressing the reset as I pass yellows seems to do the trick, but I do wonder if you can switch the AWS horn on.
The model of Cologne cathedral is stunning, Ive seen it in real life, and yes, it is that big!

With the default stock there is no warning tone, if you have an adverse signal you need to cancel as you pass it, there is a magnet right beside the signal.
