DT Class 40
When using the DT Class 40 and switching to the caview the viewpoint is looking down and to the left and not centred.
Does anyone else have this issue?
E mailed DT support some weeks ago but got no response.

Re: DT Class 40
I've not heard of this one. Are you sure it is a DT product? The other company that produce a Class 40 did a patch to fix the cab view,

Re: DT Class 40
No definately the DT pne. Got the silver sidition then the Gold edition pre order.
Will try to re install and see if that helps if no one has a fix. If not perhaps I should have considered the other one.

Re: DT Class 40
I can confirm that my DT class 40 does the same thing, the initial viewpoint is looking slightly to the right but you can easily correct it by right-clicking and moving the mouse to centre the viewpoint.
I've also manually amended the cabcamera bin file to adjust the position of the cabview as I didn't like the default setup. In my opinion, the windows in the cabview are completely the wrong shape and spoil the whole product. I've moved the view closer to the screen so you can't see the incorrect shape.

Re: DT Class 40
It is easy to fix with a small edit to the bin file. I have come across lots of engines with a wonky view, I don't know why the developers don't use default settings.chrisreb wrote:No definately the DT pne. Got the silver sidition then the Gold edition pre order.

In the DT_class40_cabcam.bin file change this section:
<windowCameraDirection>
<cRVector3>
<X d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</X>
<Y d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000000000000000" d:precision="string">0</Y>
<Z d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</Z>
</cRVector3>
The figures 0, 0 and 1 give you the correct forward view.
You can easily edit .bin files with RW_Tools and (I gather) serz.exe - I have never tried the latter.
I recently purchased this engine, and the settings did not need changing. Your version may be older. I'm surprised DT didn't reply - I had a prompt answer from them the only time I needed to make contact.

Re: DT Class 40
I bought it a few weeks ago via Just Trains and did have to edit the file to get the view right. I changed the following section of cabcam.bin (original values shown) so that all the values were 0, are you sure you quoted the right part of the file?Carinthia wrote:I recently purchased this engine, and the settings did not need changing. Code: Select all

<Y d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000D0BF" d:precision="string">-0.25</Y>
<Z d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000F03F" d:precision="string">1</Z>

Re: DT Class 40
Now I am confused - not sure if to try both bits of file or one at a time.
Just tried the second suggestion and amended the cabcam bin file and that has it sorted. Wonder why they put in the offsets in the first place?
Thank you very much for the help.

Re: DT Class 40
Glad it worked out for you. I think that in RW2 those values either were ignored, or were interpreted differently, so that the problems only appeared when RW3 / TS2012 arrived.

Re: DT Class 40
My apologies for the confusion - Andy you are absolutely right and furthermore I find from my notes I did indeed edit the view. Your figures are exactly the same as those I used. I think I need extra memory installing in my brain.AndyUK wrote:Glad it worked out for you. Seems odd that DT have not put a patch out or even acknowledged the issue - a very simple fix once you know how.
