I might have found a possible solution to this problem. Try ticking the Railsimulator box under 'Kuju'.
Re: London-Brighton SBHHing in Scenario Editor
Gave it a whirl but unfortunately it didn't help for me. I had to make a minor change to my scenario this morning and it must have taken me 5 attempts to creep up on my target train so I could reposition it. I had absolutely everything down as low as it would get and I have 12G of RAM so I know there is something not right about this route when in scenario editor mode. I also did verify cache about 3 times, cleared blueprints and all the usual tricks.
What I have noticed is that it is worse when moving around near any tunnels - especially Patcham Tunnel north of Preston Park and Redhill tunnel. My one consolation is that having spent all week writing a scenario (would normally expect this to be done in a few hours) it did at least work without crashing !

I found this as well. Richard (gybrc) found a work around but isn't really a long term solution.Thugsy wrote:Gave it a whirl but unfortunately it didn't help for me. Rather than re-naming files wont setting the scenery level to 1 in the graphics option amount to the same thing?
Best Regards

No. I did try that. The problem is the assets are still loaded into memory but just not displayed.smarty2 wrote:Rather than re-naming files wont setting the scenery level to 1 in the graphics option amount to the same thing?

Re: London-Brighton SBHHing in Scenario Editor
Now taking this idea on board I decided to create a London to Brighton only version of TS2012 as realised perhaps I was wasting my time trying to work with everything set as low as it would get and still getting SBHH constantly and maybe my overall game size was just too large. At first I thought I had a result as managed to create a good 10 AI trains between Purley and Balham with no problems (and my smaller TS2012 was loading in a fraction of the time). But my luck didn't hold and on jumping to Haywards Heath SBHH. Got that anywhere I tried between Burgess Hill and Gatwick. It is really odd as then went back to Clapham Junction and happily added another 4 AIs with no problems at all and another few at Victoria. This is such a pain as it is a great route.

Re: London-Brighton SBHHing in Scenario Editor
I'm glad I'm not the only person seeing this. Between Victoria and Purley I placed 37 AI services with one SBHH the whole time. As soon as I have starting doing things south of Purley its been a continual stream of the damn things.Thugsy wrote:Now taking this idea on board I decided to create a London to Brighton only version of TS2012 as realised perhaps I was wasting my time trying to work with everything set as low as it would get and still getting SBHH constantly and maybe my overall game size was just too large. I had an SBHH today after trying to place a train at Haywards Heath. Gave up because I couldn't be bothered with more of them. I'll try adding the Brighton AI and see how it likes that. It'll be odd if this is only afflicting that specific section.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
