Minor tangent into a real world question here - how did they go about using those with the headlight fixed to or embedded in the gangway door? Was it removed/replaced from there before/after using the units coupled together?

Good to see some freeware competition for paid reskin packs.

Hi,

The headlights of two fitted units wouldn't have touched when coupled since they were sat "further in" than the edges of the gangway. Pretty sure they were a permanent fitting unless someone happened to have a blowtorch or possibly a screwdriver :)

Thanks.

Were those gangway doors ever opened to allow movement between units, or only in older times, or were they only for emergency evacuation?

Requiring a blowtorch and screwdriver would definitely make it removable, England being the world's leading manufacturer and exporter of criminals. :P

It's the only semblance of manufacturing we still have in this country!

Yes, it was standard procedure to open the gangway doors to allow access between units. You used to be able to get into the secondmans side where the handbrake is. The drivers side of the cab was normally locked up with the door that normally separated the driving area from the drivers cross corridor. The secondmans side was segregated using the front gangway door that opened inwards, but a gap was left (and could be unhooked anyway).

I've got a problem with the CIG bundled with London-Brighton (haven't had any previous southern EMUs). I'm early despite it's very low top speed of 86.6mph even downhills, and I'm waiting at the last signal. With the reverser in any position, throttle off and brakes in full emergency the unit is creeping toward the signal and will eventually SPAD. Very odd, I'll get a video linked once it's on Youtube.

At the risk of sounding repetitive and blowing my own trumpet, you could just skip purchasing the payware version and download the freeware Southern reskin which should appear in the UKTS library later today. If you have the AP soundpack it's already compatible with it, and comes with the added benefit of sporting a headlight, a more accurate paint job, the correct unit numbers and even semi-automated installation which copies over the GeoPcDx files from the NSE version.

And bloomin good it is too...........

Thanks again JB

Cheers

If you watch this fullscreen in 720P you can see the unit creeping towards the signal despite full emergency brakes and no traction at all being applied.

This is not limited to this route. This happens with all loco's on all routes. It is a TS2012 feature ;)

Hi, re the brakes, the way to stop it creeping is to release all of that energy you just stored by releasing the brakes then reapplying - it should then stay where you want it to. :)

Hi guys,

I have the same problem with L2B, but attempting a verify game cache has made things a whole lot worse. It said it had completed the verify with no issues, but now I can't see ANY of my RSC DLC in Railworks i.e. I can only see the default routes and two non-RSC routes. The exception is L2B, which still loads as a white expanse with a few signals. Attempting to load the package manager causes the Railworks launcher to crash. Interestingly, Steam still says my Railworks install is still the same size as it was prior to my attempts to verify the game cache. I've checked my steamapps folder, and everything is still there. I attempted to do another verify game cache, but my laptop crashed before it could finish. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm going to attempt a verify once more before I do a complete reinstallation of RW.

Thanks,
Tom

Rather than do a full re-install and hours of downloading, try removing the routes folder and its associated assets folder via Windows Explorer. Just shove 'em somewhere safe for now. I haven't the route so can't tell you which of the obscure numbered folders it is, but if you have RW Tools that'll do the job---or some kind soul here will post the folder descriptor.
Once thats out of the way try running the game again, if that works put the route and assets back in and try again. If the problem now re-occurs, cut those 2 folders out again and verify to re-download the route etc.
