Graphics help. Please readme!

Post by wrighty95 »

Hi Guys,
so i have been having some trouble lately with railworks performing 'stuttering' and very bad framerates.. Not only when TSX is ON but when it is off its quite bad aswell.. Here are my details.
System Model: HP Pavillon g6 Notebook PC
BIOS: InsydeH2O Version CCB.03.61.31F.44
Processor: AMD A8-3520M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), -1.6GHz
Memory: 6144MD RAM

It also says on my laptop Quad Core AND RADEON DUAL GRAPHICS. Now the guy said in PC world that is shouldnt stutter.. So do i have to change something or what?
Many thanks for any replies
Freddie

I think it is below the recommended specs required for the game especially that cpu.

Best thing to do is email RSC support. They will help you out better. I remember my PC couldn't run everything properly. I contacted them and they told me everything I needed to do and what to set everything to - including Anti Aliasing. As it's their game they will know doubt be able to tell you.
If not, start from the very bottom and work your way up through the settings. That way you can see what best runs the game. Setting it too low can cause lag (like I found out) and too high can cause lag. So like I say contact RSC and ask them.

Minimum Requirements
OS Windows XP with latest service pack installed /
Windows Vista / Windows 7
CPU XP - Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 2.0 GHz or equivalent Vista or
Windows 7 - Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon 2.8 GHz or equivalent
RAM 2 GB
GFX 256MB DirectX 9.0c compliant video card supporting Pixel Shader 3.0
or above
SFX DirectX 9.0c compatible
HDD 6 GB of space is required to install the game. You may need more
space if you install extra add-on material
Note: For compatibility with previous versions of RailWorks, TS2012 will
work on lower specification machines, however some new features may not
operate correctly.

Freddie, I'm no expert, but I do think the processors are a bit slow (1.6) it does not matter if you have 4, the rest looks ok, but even a fast single (3Mhz) might have been better, try not to run antivirus when using RW3. Good luck

A 4 core CPU won't make much difference, since Railworks doesn't utilise all of them.
Intel Core i3-2120 @3.3.Ghz
Asus P8768-V
Nvidia GeForce 570GTX
16GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz
500GB Seagate SATA III
