Re: FB Announcement
Yes, all they are doing is offering a massive discount on a bumper pack of DLC (a special offer)

Re: FB Announcement
Its called marketing!! I think you will find most businesses do it!!Typical of RSC, announcing that something big is coming and then what? Turns out its just another deal...

Re: FB Announcement
Its nothing more than marketing, they kick up interest, good for them.
It's like when Channel 4 were running those idents before they launched More 4 that made it look like an "adult" channel.

If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...

Re: FB Announcement
The hypocrisy here is nauseating! Most of the negative posts on this thread are by the same people who complain when discounted deals are not advertised enough for them!

Re: FB Announcement
To be fair this is an amazing deal for those who don't own US stock - like me (All US Stock seems like it's copy and pasted, it obviously isn't though).
Although, I am surprised they haven't updated all the stock in this pack to TS2012 standards and then given this deal. Would've been a great enticement.

It is an extremly good deal for those who don't own the stock even if it hasn't been updated to TS2012 standards. I would encourage those who don't have the stock and have an intrest in US railways to purchase it (im thinking of buying it myself)

The same is often said about UK stock by people outside the UK.whiterider wrote:All US Stock seems like it's copy and pasted, it obviously isn't though

Re: FB Announcement
That is a pretty good deal. Be warned the steamers don't work in manual firing mode - they get hit by the can't-fill-the-boiler issue because they're built up of multiple seperate steam engines - but they're impressively huge as they should be. I like the GP9 a lot.
Nothing's ever good enough though, eh.

My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

It appears you'll get the news in the newsletter according to this post:

I nearly fell off my chair when I read the responses to 'want to find out what the new US route will be?' The US now own Europe?! I got to watch the news more often...

Re: FB Announcement
That puzzled me too. Either they didn't read the announcement properly or there is some in joke we are not getting.
Anyway, I'd like to start off the speculation by suggesting it will be the Stevens Pass route.

Re: FB Announcement
And I'd like to end the speculation by telling you it will be Laramie to Cheyenne, aka Sherman Hill. RSC's hints are clear enough - grasslands and beans means Great Plains and the "cowboy" is author CJ Box whose novels are set in Wyoming!

Re: FB Announcement
The "Sherman" tank is in fact a British name though, for what the USA were happy to just call a M4 tank. In fact I think most USA second world war items were named by the British rather than the US, Mustang, Thunderbolt, and Lightning are just P51, P47 and P38 to the Americans.FoggyMorning wrote:Not very inventive with their photo clues are they?
