Yeah, since this hasn't been released yet nobody knows for certain whether the old class 67 pack will have been upgraded as well - as usual a number of people are simply jumping to the "worst case scenario" type conclusion

I asked them on Twitter and they DM'd (unsure why they didn't just respond normally) me, saying they original 67 is unlikely to be given the TS2012 treatment along with this pack. So once again it *looks* like they are making us pay and then pay again to get an update with a repaint - you get one repaint, but you lose like 5...
All we need now is for Just Trains to come out with the exact same pack (coaches, might be difficult, they are the only thing that justifies paying the £4.99, even then I would only expect to pay £2.99) and release it for free for those with their Class 67 and then their model will no doubt sell like hot cakes!
I'm not fat - I'm easy to see
Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
Which makes me think that they might issue an update at a later date rather than on Thursday? Doesn't mean they are not going to update the original 67.saying they original 67 is unlikely to be given the TS2012 treatment along with this pack

Well if they just told people whether they were doing it or not, then no one would have to jump to any conclusion, but that would be too easy I guess!FoggyMorning wrote:Yeah, since this hasn't been released yet nobody knows for certain whether the old class 67 pack will have been upgraded as well - as usual a number of people are simply jumping to the "worst case scenario" type conclusion

Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
Would I get an answer before Thursday if I did, they could just make it public knowledge, they have done with other DLC updates!FoggyMorning wrote:Have you asked them then?davejc64 wrote:Well if they just told people whether they were doing it or not, then no one would have to jump to any conclusion, but that would be too easy I guess!FoggyMorning wrote:Yeah, since this hasn't been released yet nobody knows for certain whether the old class 67 pack will have been upgraded as well - as usual a number of people are simply jumping to the "worst case scenario" type conclusion
I have just sent them an email asking about existing DLC TS2012 updates, I will patiently await their reply!

Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
Anyone wishing to do this should first be aware that copyright still applies, regardless of anyone's views about whether RSC will upgrade the 67 themselves. RSC's permission would be required before any such mods could be uploaded or otherwise distributed.davejc64 wrote:Can't see why not if somebody wants to have a go at doing it and RSC can't be bothered, it shouldn't be a problem!Retro wrote:Is it not possible for someone clever with bin. Surely they already gave it in their statement a few weeks ago? As long as no shape files are uploaded, then they have already given permission?ashgray wrote: RSC's permission would be required before any such mods could be uploaded or otherwise distributed.

Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
You would have thought so, but I suppose if it was done and people didn't buy the 67 Diamond Jubilee pack because of it, due to the freeware reskin being available as well then RSC might not be too happy, I guess.msey0002 wrote:Surely they already gave it in their statement a few weeks ago? Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
A Jubilee reskin pack has already been done for both the RSC and the JT versions.

Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
As long as there is no infringement of RS.com's copyright/intellectual property then there is no problem uploading a modification under the terms of the Extended User Agreement published a few weeks back.
I can see two potential issues with this however:
1. It is a little bit of a grey area I think (far less clear cut than uploading a "simple" reskin), so a step-by-step tutorial may be more appropriate for those who intend to purchase both packs.
2. The DRM protection applied to files distributed via Steam may not allow for shape files to be copied to a location outside of their original folder (see here http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 7#p1558594 - Kariban and bdy26 seem to be the forum members with most experience of dealing with this type of thing)
I think it is also worth waiting a little while until the pack is released to see if the old class 67 pack is updated before embarking on any complicated modifications

Perhaps my earlier hint was a bit too subtle?

Re: Class 67 Jubilee add-on
Even with all the various communications at hand RSC struggle to communicate adequately it seems.
They are not selling bananas, they are selling hi-tech DLC to a mostly Hi-tech customer base of mostly very knowledgeable railway enthusiasts. This customer base needs much more information than they are getting currently from RSC about DLC.
Anyone else here feel slightly patronised after a visit to the RSC Facebook page?
I do disagree with those who say RSC don't have to upgrade previous DLC to 2012, it is very much in their own interest to do this in my opinion. They need to maintain confidence in their products, and upgrading is very much crucial to this aim.
I just may buy this pack though, not a big interest for me but I do like the pocket money pricing level. £4.99 isn't it? Do I get the Queen waving from the carriage window in the pack; I will be disappointed if she isn't?
