hst gone

hi all,
i have had a bit of a problem with the class 43 hst, i wanted to see its max speed so i serz the bin file and ran it back through the serz but now when i load the game up i get a error message saying. ERROR (647) :end tag mismatchafter character value
FILE: D:/build/core release/code/libs/foundation/API/core/cFx Excepition.h
LINE 113 . have backed up my railworks through steam but how can i re install the hst.

Just delete the file and verify cache to get steam to put it back.

many thanks,
i really wanted to make the hst with more power so last time when i tried it with the class 150 i edited the bin file and the max rpm .
but when i do that with the hst it comes up with that message when i load a route but there are a lot more files eg fgw default etc and there are a lot more bin files witch one do i edit .

If you want to modify files to make super trains, I would suggest using a cloned copy or a downloaded reskin rather than default files, or at least making a backup of the Class 43 folder which you can put back if something goes wrong. Then you will be in the situation where fixing it will be easy.

1. The error message you got indicates that you made an error while editing the first one. Mismatched Tag errors occur if you get the wrong number of brackets in your .bin file, e.g. if a line or paragraph begins with <Name> then it must end with </Name> this is what is meant by start and end tags. Don't ever edit these, just the values in between, and make sure all the < and > are there.

2. With regard to which file do you edit, in my Kuju HST folder there are 49 sub-folders each containing a locomotive's details, so to edit the whole fleet, you would need to edit the .bin file corresponding to the loco in every one of these folders. To ensure that the file you are editing is a loco, if you open it in serz.exe then you will find that the 4th line is <cEngineBlueprint> anything else and it is not a loco.

3. If you are intending to edit that number of files, I would suggest you try RW_Tools as with it you can quickly list the names of all the .bin files and then edit them. (There is an inbuilt physics editor as well).

i do have notepad to edit it on but when i run the xml through serz it says badly formed xml file what can i do .
