"The Rest" of PDL

Just a query. Is there any project, official, unofficial or even one man's pet project to "finish" PDL?
It irritates me how there looks like there is one of the most interesting networks with a massive amount of operational fun to be had and its all empty. It seems like quite a bit of work has been done. It looks like its all been signaled, stations are all laid out with markers, there is one depot and goods yard type thing out there. But none has been finished. Some has been built up, there's a station near Woking, Brookwood or something which has been built properly, scenery, roads, town, even station clutter, almost finished. Bridges are laid out, I think the DEM has been done, I assume the gradient work is all done. Speeds might even be done.
Is there any interest in finishing it? Would RSC have a massive problem with work being done to DLC?

Not a massive problem, just contact them out of courtesy first.

I think one or two people have had a go at filling in some of the gaps.
I do, now and again, but I'm useless at it and only covered about half a mile.
( I can't imagine RSC doing anything about it, it wouldn't make them any money? )

I did make an attempt at sections of the network, however I got side tracked by relaying bits of track here and there and changing a lot of speed restrictions along the main line down to portsmouth as most of them were wrong or in teh wrong places and it spoilt the scenarios for me. I gave up trying to finish off the rest of the network in the end as i noticed a couple of areas that needed track to be removed, relayed and resignalled as well as adding the scenery and with work and other things taking up my time I just couldn't do it but I agree it would be nice to have it finished.

Hmm. I don't think it is something one single person could do. I'd do it but I have no knowledge of the area at all, not even what it looks like on the ground. Perhaps a group exercise might be a good idea. I just can't help thinking a lot of work has been done and it could be a good thing to finish.
I also wonder why? It almost seems like the group who built it originally were told to build the whole network around Woking/Guildford (hence the filename of the route) then for some reason were told to just build the Woking - Portsmouth line. Luckily it seems they finished the trackwork before that point!

I live in the Havant area of the route so I live right in the middle of the PDL... I have no experience at route building sadly, but if I could help out any other way? I am happy too.

Not sure, but isn't this the route that RSAdam started back in the railsim days?
Thus for the most part, it is the work of one person. As to the commercial decisions as to why it was released as it was, you'd have to ask RSC.

Yes, I believe it originated from Adams project hence why track was laid extensively.

There are also unfinished sections on the Edinburgh to Glasgow as well, has anybody had a go at filling them in?

I, too, would love to see the rest of PDL filled with scenery as it would add enormously to the operating potential of the route.
Unfortunately I know nothing about the area so probably have little to offer should somebody decide to take on the task.

We'll have to wait and see what the updated Portsmouth will look like when it gets released soon, they might have filled in the blank areas for all we know, it would be nice to drive a train from Redhill, for example, but, tbh I'm not holding my breath.

Ohhhh, well, I've been offline for a couple of weeks, so, don't have the update installed yet, as it happens I'm just reading the other thread about the upgrade as I type, thanks for telling us anyway, Steve.
