Pardon my ignorance, but...

Post by ka959 »

I don't get on Facebook, or any social media, much at all, but can anyone please deign to tell me if there's any news regarding the Portsmouth Direct upgrade ? Someone said it had been delayed, but, for how long, exactly ? And when should it put on an appearance ? I'm looking forward to seeing it, as I have the original, and want to see what it's like. Is it just updated to the TS2012 engine specs ? Thanks for any news. Cheers.

Regards...

Hi,
RSC have simply said it's been held back. They've updated the route from what I can tell it's just not released. There reason behind the delay is that they want the 421 Cig(?) to also be updated and the Class 423(?) to be released. I think it's so they can do a bundle deal and not have a staggered release for them. meaning all Southern EMUs are given the TS2012 treatment at the same time! They don't know when it will be released right now, but I would probably say 3 or 4 weeks (or a year going by their recent form  ). I too cannot wait, I don't know why but I like the very slick and modern EMUs we have! London - Brighton will no doubt be my only purchase for the rest of this year! I have too much content some I don't even use!

I am looking forward to it also after switching to TSX mode, stuck with 30fps because thats the smoothest I can get. With Portsmouth Direct it was due out last week but RSC are playing the silent treatment again in regard to when it may be released.
It wil be released otherwise it would be stupid to keep advertising it within game. the question is when

The wait will not be that bad, I remember people eagerly looking forward to the initial 1st december relase date for Woodhead and then RSC released Donner Pass......

I don't mind the wait if it gets rid of bugs etc.
Thats true! Although it looks like they've taken notice with the Donner Pass for once! All American content made by RSC doesn't seem to be 100% accurate whereas UK routes tend to be much better! Woodhead was built by a different team too so maybe it's just Derek and his squad are better than the others - it certainly seems so in my eyes from what we've been given!
Cheers

From what I recall they said that they wanted to convert the 421 at the same time, and therefore needed more time for testing scenarios. And as mentioned that they wanted to release it and the 4-VEP together. No timeframe was given tho...

Or they'll put the updated 421 in a bundle with the 423 and some scenarios plus an updated red 37 and charge £20 for it.
I've been to Eastbourne too, So what!
