Can some knowledgeable person please explain ?

Post by ka959 »

Hi there,,,

Can someone who knows his way round TS2012, please help me to understand something about the .bin files that are for some of the Class 380 repaints or whatever, so I can have something different from the rather plain ScotRail one in the GARL route ? I want to get the London Midland model operational, but the LM file downloaded, only contains a .bin file, and this leaves me puzzled, as it's not the whole Class 380 repaint, and all I see is the usual default model. I hope somebody understands what I'm on about, here, as I need help badly. Thanks for any possible assistance. Cheers.

Regards...

Jim ...

I'm assuming you own the Class 380, whether you purchased it from Totalize Media or from Steam. If you don't then you can't use the repaint.

1. Download the full repaint from http://rw-trainsim.co.uk/forums/index.p ... w;down=675 and unpack the archive.

2. Read and follow the included installation instructions which include duplicating the "scotrail" folder and renaming it "LM", then manually copying and pasting the repaint files into:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\TotalizeMedia\Class380Pack01\RailVehicles\Electric\class380\LM\engine

3. Download the repaint's update for TS2012 from http://www.stevensrailworksscenarios.com/files/lm.zip and unpack the file (DMOS_194m.bin). All you need to do is move this file into the following folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\TotalizeMedia\Class380Pack01\RailVehicles\Electric\class380\LM\engine

4. Finally, open Railworks, go to the Tools & Docs tab and click on the "Clear Cache" button. Start Railworks, open a scenario in the Editor, and make sure the Class380 under TotalizeMedia is selected in your Assets drop down menu. You will then find the 3 variants of the London Midland 380 in your engines list as follows:

LM Class 380 DMSO
LM Class 380 PTOSLW
LM Class 380 TOSL

One thing I noticed with this repaint is that the "London Midland" label on the driver's side of the DMSO is backwards. Maybe there's a fix for this somewhere, but I couldn't find it. :(

Actually, the "London Midland" label on one side of all 3 units is backwards.
