4F Sound Pack

Post by Carinthia »

Is anybody here using the improved 4F sounds from UKTS_27548_MW_4F_Sound_Pack.zip ?

I am having installation issues. The instructions are to install the RWP file (simple) and then copy some assets to the assets directory and overwrite. In the process of doing that copying, I get the following curious error:
ERROR: Could not open shader file shaders\Standard.shaders
FILE: cHcPrimitveCreatorForPs2.cpp
LINE: 1731

The end result is a lovely set of sounds but an invisible locomotive! Only the tender can be seen but I can drive around.

The locomotive can be restored by doing a Steam file integrity check but then, of course, the lovely sounds are lost.

Any ideas on a solution will be appreciated.

Many thanks, Matt, that did the trick!

In case anybody else comes up against the same issue, it turned out that the two problems were separate. Although the instructions said to copy everything in the zip's Assets directory across, it worked better to go one directory deeper and work from there - and this, for some reason, avoided the error message and copied everything satisfactorily.

And the fix you gave corrected the invisible engine of course.

Thanks again.
