Re: Update? 11.7b
I must've just missed it. I did a verify of my cache between 8 and 9 tonight....back online I go......
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it
Re: Update? 11.7b
Guys,
when you report more FPS (for Woodhead for instance) you mean you get them just within the editor or on the track while driving?

Update? 11.7b
Also praying it's the loft bug fix. Route building has been painful.

I had just started Railworks OK then, having read about the update, exited and logged into Steam.
Closed Steam (although still coneected online) and restarted Railworks - unable!!
My Railworkse.exe and the other one (Proc2 or something) have diasspeared.
Where, why?

Re: Update? 11.7b

Re: Update? 11.7b
For me, Woodhead has been improved out of all recognition. I'm getting something like a 10fps improvement (14->24fps) at much higher settings than I have ever been able to run at before. On the other hand, WCMLN has been ruined. It never was a great runner on my PC but I could get 14fps without having to turn everything down. Now, with TSX off, the launcher set at Low and the game graphics set to Lowest I can get no more than 10fps at any point between Glasgow and Motherwell.
Something else I've noticed is that it's no longer running on both processor cores with something like an equal loading. One core is now over 90% and the other is closer to 25%. Using the Multi-Core switch improves this a bit but there's still a good 20-25% imbalance between the two.

Quite impressed with the results actually and yes, there are FPS improvements despite not expecting it. I was actually using PDL last night and monitoring the FPS for a scenario I was working on, just tried it again today and have gained 5-6 fps. Nicely in time for the PDL upgrade.

Re: Update? 11.7b
Thanks for the heads-up on the update - done in stealth mode again was it??
Anyhow, I just put Steam on-line and the update was done almost immediately. Over 30 files and folders were downloaded - 19 of the files were in the Railworks main folder and seemed to be significant changes (the Railworks.exe and Serz.exe were included).

Anyone tried a double-headed manually fired steamer yet?
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.
Re: Update? 11.7b
Just tried Woodhead too. I not had it very long and used a day / rainey scenario. It does seem to be smoother... kinda hard to rember what it was like a few days ago.
Are you guys clicking the Multi Core tick box when loading or disregaring it?

To answer my own question, you still can't feed water to a steam engine with another engine in the consist, even though F5 is saying it's working properly.
