GWR Autocoach

This looks like a great addition to Railworks. I see from some screen shots that the install works fine for those that have posted but this is the result I get. I've un-installed a couple of times and downloaded from a different site but the result is still the same. Anyone know what I've done wrong? It seems that one of the textures in my download is all black rather than brown and cream.

Hi Llew,
Just a shot in the dark :)
Have you got your screen resolution set to 16 bit instead of 32 bit?

Cheers,
Ged

I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that's not caused by running at 16-bit. My system has been set to 16-bit graphics for some months, with TS2012 in 'legacy' mode, to see if it reduces the risk of SBHH's on Woodhead, and the auto-coach appears normal on my setup.' I've just tried altering the time from day to night within a scenario, and also turning on TSX, to try and replicate the problem, but without success.

Sorry, this is probably not much help I know, except possibly to eliminate one potential cause.

Cheers

Norm

Hi, that might be the low quality texture - try increasing object texture quality.

Thanks guys for your help.

Using your suggestions I think I've found the answer - I've got it to work but only with TSX enabled. I really prefer the legacy mode so this is how I have always run the game. Perhaps it's time I tried to persevere with TSX!

Thanks

Llew

Llew, Good to hear you have it sorted for now.
Im not really going to be much help, sorry.
Just thought I would let you know that im running the autocoach fine in legacy mode?
As I said, not much help but just letting you know that it is possible to get it running without TSX.

Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick

It seems that my own preferred settings under legacy mode don't appeal to the Autocoach. As I've spent a lot of trial and error getting them to match my expectations I think I'll have to accept that this bit of kit will have to stay in the carriage shed for now!

Best wishes

Llew

It is possible that one of the new TS2012 shaders has been used that legacy mode does not recognise.

I dont remember doing a stealth livery :D Its not a shader issue as the Great Western Logo is done with the same shader, its trainbumpspec.fx. It runs fine in legacy mode for me and on my other computer. I guess you are using Bilinear Texture filtering as i get the same result with that setting. If you change it to Anisotropic texture filtering it should work!

A bit of a mystery really.

My work computer has TS2012 with all settings set low and the model looks fine in any combination of filter and TSX on/off mode.

I cannot reproduce that effect :-?

It seems to me that the problem is concerned with my own PC. I've tried to see if there are any problems with my graphics card (ATI Radeon 5700 series) and after a search I've come across an error with AODdriver4.1 which is related to the card. I'm trying to find a solution to this (uninstalling and reinstalling driver 12:3 for the card, cleaning the registry) to see if this makes a difference.

Thanks again for all your support.
