RSC Class 37 Pack Error

Post by matt1314 »

Hey everyone!

It's me with yet another problem concerning the Class 37 Pack from RSC. Just wanted to drive it and tested it on the TestTraK. As soon as I activated the wiper, I got this:

The numbering suddenly went to the wheels. And I just pressed the "V" button. And yes, my cache is cleared.

Anyone ran into this error? Happens only on the Red/Red Stripe engines.

The pack hasn't been updated yet to TS2012 has it? In fact, will it be?

This glitch hasn't been caused by the core upgrade from RW to TS2012 breaking something, because it was always present in the days of RW2 also. I've just confirmed this by testing in my old 'heritage' installation of RW2 and I get the same problem there too.

I've just tried a quick experiment to see whether it's curable by copying over one of the other models' .BIN files and renaming everything as appropriate therein, but that doesn't cure it.

I know nothing of rolling stock creation for RW, but in days of yore I did tinker with TSModeler for MSTS and I seem to recall that animated parts had to be linked in the right way in a hierarchy. On the assumption that RW models are put together in a similar way, my best guess would be that the (transparent) auto-numbering 'panel' and the wipers are both 'parts' of the model, and that somehow the wiper on/off switch has been linked to the wrong 'part' in error when the model was put together, as the wipers themselves don't activate when they should, but the number panel does jump to the incorrect location.

There seems to be a similar glitch on the Mk.2 BSO included in the Class 86 DLC, where a door winds up transposed on the wrong side of the coach once opened.

Cheers

So all we have to do is to wait for an updated version, right?

The 37 pack is capable of upgrade by the community as you can just reference the default 37. I've done some of my reskins but haven't done them all yet.

Not seen this error before, will have a look.
