Thanks for the tip, bigvern ! ( wouldn't it be nice to have a ' scenario of the week' sticky or even it's own forum ? )

A magnificent ride indeed, but like Stevee, i also noticed quite an attack on the fps. I do have everything at max on an Alienware Area51 ALX ( i7-980x,GF GTX480,12GB 1600MHz Tri Channel Mem).

( Any tips on what exactly to best tone down to get better fps on a graphically demanding trip like this ? )

I could not finish this particular scenario because of something i have never seen before in any scenario i have ever played : i lost my coaches !... :o

It happend somewhere during the last leg of this trip. I changed to track view and heard some kind of load 'bang!' Didn't know what the heck that was and changed back to cab view. Everything seemed normal... Until i changed back to outside view again after a while and noticed i was driving a lone 390 loc with the rest of train a couple of 100 meters behind it.....

As the coupling view on the DI showed the train still coupled up correctly it was to no avail when i tried to couple the loc to the coaches again. What i possibly should've done was just finish the ride without the coaches and get the green V anyway..

I'll have another go and this time stay inside during the last leg.. :)

cheers,
jan

Hmmmm, I got Woodhead working nice and I got my other WCML-N stuff working good, but I just bought the 390 and it's a frame rate killer for me, not good for a fast train. Wasn't expecting that but I'll try again with shadows turned off tomorrow.

Frame rate killer for me too. Strangely the Pendo ran fine prior to the ts2012 upgrade, now it's a slideshow for me if I run it on WCMLN

I had the 30 FPS lock on and outside Glasgow/Motherwell was still only indicating 14 - 15 FPS but it seemed relatively smooth.

WCML is still probably my favourite of the DLC routes, it "feels" like the real railway. (Woodhead not far behind).

I thought it would be nice to post positively that sometimes the magic *does* happen!

Hear hear..!
If it didn't give us glimpses of magic we wouldn't all invest so much time and money on it! Would we?

Have a happy train driving, scenario creating, route building, asset making weekend everyone! :)

Yep, the 390 is almost unusable for me since it was updated. On that particular scenario I went from Glasgow to Motherwell without seeing my fps go over 11, whereas in a HST on the same settings I get a steady 25fps...

As another one who has been fairly critical in the past I love the Class 390. I generally go between Liverpool and Preston on my own Route or Liverpool through Runcorn. I am hoping they will also Update the Class 101 as this is another older favourite.
I really like the Class 70. they have done a great job on this one. Thing are looking up. :D
Kind regards James.
