I know what you mean, the 4 CIG always looked too dark to me in game especially the blue grey paintscheme.MallardFan wrote:It looks good... the textures on the side look better then on the 4CIG (there is something about the 4CIGs TS2012 conversion that makes the textures look off to me...)

Re: 4-VEP coming soon from RSC
The front isn't wholly accurate - just like the CIG, but for me it looks alright. Looks like the guards van shown is the earlier unrefurbished type which would be accurate for Blue/Grey & NSE.
Annoyingly like the first shots on the CIG is the buckeye is 'dropped'. It really was extremely rare for a SR 400 unit to run with the buckeye dropped - more common on preserved lines where I guess RSC have done their research - I made this comment at the time with the CIG and RSC did sort it so hopefully - RSC if you are reading this could you raise the buckeye.
Regards
Steve

Front handrails and axle covers would usually be black on blue/grey and NSE units. I think the NSE red shade is off too.

Interesting that they are plugging this as an addon for the Portsmouth route rather than London to Brighton
Re: 4-VEP coming soon from RSC
CIGs and VEPs are my childhood trains but I've yet to buy the CIG and still hesitant because it (and the VEP) just doesn't look right.coolhand101 wrote:Just like the CIG, the roof is too shallow or the sides are too high. The top front of the cab is slightly distorted to compensate.JasonM wrote: As with the Cig there is something about the front that seems not right, maybe it's just me.
Wonder if the 4VEP has the correct 3-position brake handle?
Thanks

Re: 4-VEP coming soon from RSC
Well at the time of release of the 4-VEP, London to Brighton will still be a month or so away from relase itself, so I'd imagine it makes more sense from a sales perspective to sell it for an existing route. One would assume it will come with scenarios for PDL also.FoggyMorning wrote:Interesting that they are plugging this as an addon for the Portsmouth route rather than London to Brighton
Whether scenarios for London Brighton will be forthcoming after its release or not will be interesting to see...

I wonder when the 4CIG will get upgraded with this release...
I wonder if it will be a London-Brighton 4CIG version like we have had with other "upgrades"...

Have you got a link to that Paul? I can't see any tweets from RSC since yesterday lunchtime, and on Facebook they have been plugging the Settle & Carlisle Railtours pack for release tonight

Looks like it was deleted, I'm afraid.
But here's the original Tweet for posterity. With a hint of an 87 in the background

So what happened to the Portsmouth Direct Line update, which was supposedly a prerequisite for the 4-VEP?

It got to Portsmouth, got on a ferry and is now somewhere in the south of France.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
