Stanier 0-4-4T 2P

Post by levisham »

Is there a reskin available for the Stanier 0-4-4T 2P for the BR era? The only one I can see is for the LMS period. Only ten were built and nine of them were withdrawn in 1959 but one survived until 1962,

Regards, John.

I did some reskins of them with Steve and I thought they had got into the freeware pack, but they're not in the gallery. From memory they're not perfect as I they either had a unicycling lion compressed within an LMS "M" or one side was reversed.

I'm away for the weekend but I'll check and get them across to Jim when I'm back.

Another lovely model from Kevin, this sim would be much poorer but for his work.

I agree, nice model but LMS doesn't fit in with my era. If you do have the reskins I'm sure that they would be very popular with the steam fans,

Fear not John, I'll get them released. I've also done skins for John (Partyspiritz) of Peter's 2-4-2 L&Y Aspinall tank which need tweaking, and I'll get those released too assuming John is okay with that. Then you'll be in four coupled heaven :D

Ben,
I've just spotted something else that requires a fix. When you look at the gallery for the UKTS freeware pack there are two 0-4-4T 2P's and they are wrongly labelled as FP Ivatt 2mt 2-6-2t 2 (SS) & FP Ivatt 2mt 2-6-2t 3 (SS) which explains why I get 2P's when I wanted Ivatt's in my scenarios!

I can say I see the same problem. My first thought was "what an odd Ivatt!"

Ben,
I see that you have finally got the L&Y Aspinall tanks ready for release. They are looking good. Are they due to be uploaded soon?
And any more news about the 2P in BR livery?

Regards, John.

Sometime ago I did a quick re-skin of the 0-4-4 into BR 1950 logo.
Unfortunately the BR logo faces the opposite way on each side of the loco although the "British Railways" lettering is correct (ie: the lion faces forwards on one side, and backwards on the other). Also, the numbering is restricted to a maximum of 4 numbers I think, rather than standard BR five number system - spacing would be a problem.

Only just spotted this thread and have now renamed the Ivatt's that are Staniers to "Stanier 2P 0-4-4T" matching the other one that is in the pack.

Sorry for the mistake. Must have got mixed up when editing all the BIN files.

It will be in the next update. It won't break any scenarios etc. It is just an in-game name change which is essentially a cosmetic change.

Ceegee,
Any chance of seeing it? You could put it here or send me a PM. I could use a BR version.
Thanks.

Stanier 0-4-4T 2P

Post by bdy26 »

Hi John

I'll get mine uploaded - I've done the numbering by having "41" on the first texture and got the logo on the M texture so it isn't mirrored.

I need to check something with Kev but might have a nice surprise addition for it.

This is how my attempt turned out - the logo replaced the "M" but the lion should face forwards on each side of the loco. Mine doesn't

What did I do wrong?
