Any US Style Pullmans?

I tried a year ago or more to find US style pullman coaches with the authentic pullman green, the only official add ons have that hideous Union Pacific yellow and are modern in style...and a sad travesty. The Pullman sleepers and coaches were everywhere on every line just about with a few liveried exceptions. and yet I have seen very few in RW, and no Pullman Observation cars yet that I know of. Anyone know of any or any in the works? i saw the upcoming Durango Silverton Release will sadly have the modern coaches that are a sad result of a movie made on that line in the 1950s , they repainted the traddiional pullman green coaches that had run on the Denver and Rio Grande for decades with what is called the Bumble Bee yellow, another hideous travesty and they have remained with the exception of two special private cars that are red. I hope someone or they make an option for the green but i have little heart to try to run historic US Routes from the steam era with no proper carriages. Luckily we have plenty of the right kind for Steam Era UK.

Pullman heavyweights? I think the Britkits ones are from memory, although I can only remember the lightweight steel ones being a pullman design for sure. You can download a freeware example to check them anyway. Be aware that they're MSTS conversions.

Hi Chris --

Those of us who follow US practice don't seem to be well served in Rail Works. These are available, but unfortunately only from the Dark Side. If it is possible to get MSTS material into RW then I should contact the author to see if it's possible to port them across. Surely it can't be that hard?

As long as the author as the original source files, they should be able to be converted.

The Durango coaches will presumably be narrow gauge anyway?

yes the durango ones will be NG..... interestingly enough there were standard guage lines that ran into Durango from the south and the rail yard had three rail tracks to accomodate both guages but i am not sure of they are making the new Durango route to include such detail.

those others would be nice, yes heavies was what i was talking about. the britkits are too hard to use, i tried once and it was mind numbingly frustrating to the point of being useless sad do say.

there was one company i cant remember the name currently that made some Penn ie red pullmans, and there may have been one green one in the lot but no one has made a complete set including the baggage care, combine, and dinner, and observation car that full trains always had so it is really not much good on its own.

and I lack the skills to convert anything..hence my post :) My main interest remains UK routes but i would love to try some american steam era driving.....but freight runs dont inspire me much.

I just asked Rick at G Trax if they will consider doing a set of heavies...in traditional Pullman Colours and possibly use a great feature that there is a version of for Trainz and that is a user customizable kit to make your own logo of choice...otherwise a set of the main lines would be great, say the Santa Fe, Denver and Rio Grande, Grand Central, Penn Central and so forth. I hope G Trax may do it for they would do a great job. They are providing some of the Durango route coaches in the accurate historic green which is a great relief. Not many people may know that the yellow durango cars were made for a movie only in the 1950s and have nothing at all to do with historic use.
