Yep was just going to post back to say clearing the cache sorted it. I normally clear it whenever I download DLC or an update from Steam but must have forgotten on this occasion.

Cheers,

JB

Edit to save double-posting: 170 sounds seem to have been fixed, no more clunk clunk clunking :)

Can anyone confirm what signals are used - bulb or LED? All the signals are now filament bulb but I'm sure they are LED before the update.

One thing that hasn't changed is the numbers on the red Class 37 which still shift when using the wipers.

Just had a quick run in the new night time scenario from G-E as far as Falkirk High and absolutely fantastic. It ran very smoothly and I had reasonable framerates, lighting effects looked superb and with the snow and rain effects on the windscreen made it feel very realistic. Well done to the creators.

Got to admit, tried a night time scenario & very impressed with new effects & how well route ran - big thumbs up from me!
Thank you

As I mentioned earlier they did a very good job doing the same thing for the GARL route and just goes to show what can be achieved in this sim. There's a lot of merit for the 'drivers eye view' implementation as both routes run very nicely for me. (I only have a 2.13 Ghz dual core processor). I'm a happy bunny tonight.

:D :D :D
For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it ;-)

Just had a quick go From Waverley to Haymarket, and the update looks very nice.

The 170 has no more clanking sounds which makes me want to drive it again.

One thing isn't it supposed to have notched brake settings instead of being able to set to any percentage?

Chris
Rising Storm -Name is in the credits :D - To Do scenario, where you go along at 50mph in a Pendo? Who would play it?
Anyone want to help in Play Testing future Rising Storm/ Ro2 Maps? If so please PM me.

The prototype does have stepped / notched brakes so what I used to do, and if the update hasn't changed will it continue to do, is to use applications that give brake cylinder pressures corresponding to the steps i.e. 1.1 bar for step 1, 2.2 bar for step 2, and 3.3 bar for step 3.

It ought to be possible to give it stepped braking by using the 150, 156 or 166 as a guide if anyone fancies a go.

As far as i could tell it didn't seem to have them any more, yet Throttle is still stepped. Although i only quickly test drove it between Waverley and Haymarket though

Not sure what they were before the update or indeed what type are currently used in reality, but there are still LED signals on the route (the area around Croy for example).

The signals haven't changed. There is a mixture of 2, 3 and 4 aspect filament bulb signals and 3 and 4 aspect LED signals.

The brakes on the 170 have never been notched. There is a notch sound when moving the power handle into brake though and these sound at percentages corresponding to 1.1, 2.2 and 3.3 bar.

Very impressive; framerate hit for me me though looking into Waverley at night.

Does anyone know if the branded repaints for the 170 still work?
