I think this has a lot to do with the last core update. I would get the dreaded SBHH once in a while but now, its every time I use it . I have lost most of the scenario's I have created on my own route when I have made a few improvements and not being able to open the scenario editor to put anythng right!!!
It had already crossed my mind that this was something to do with the last update and simply dread the next one for fear of what else they can screw up. I simply feel that this was once a great game that's slowly falling to pieces. Such a shame!
Mark.

Good Morning Gents,
Well its not me then!! i have been having the same problems with SBHH since the last update and before that only now and again, i was off line since the start of the year but went on-line two weeks ago to a get free addon from Steam and of course i got the update,
What was driving me "nuts" yesterday was trying to fly in the editor to a location using Lat/Long it would nearly get there and then "PoP" to desktop, if i did the same as you guys by running from one place to another via my trackball/shift it would run for a while then SBHH, very frustrating!
I am sure [as i can be] that it is to do with this latest up grade although i did find that if i waited to make sure everything was loaded in the editor sometimes it was ok, then again it was not, so i don't know its certainly a pain in you know where!
Cheers,
Roger.

I think you can be rest assured John (Partyspiritz) that your computer is just fine and if the powers to be are trying to indicate anything different, then the chances are, they have not a clue how to get RW back on track (apologies for the pun, not intentional).
I relate RW to buying that dream car, the one you see advertised and thought, what a great looking car that is!. So you spend your hard earned cash and buy it then invest more of your hard earned cash to buying those little extra's just to make the whole thing perfect. You wash it, polish it and marvel in its sleek lines and curves and drive hundreds of miles enjoying the views. One day, you take your car for a service, they play around with it and return it back only to find it looks different, runs different and keeps breaking down. You take it back and they play around with it some more !!!!.... only to find that it breaks down again and again and again. So you get to the point of thinking... if I take it out for a spin, will it make it home again? ... Solution... well, it can't be the car, it must be the driver and how they drive it?

I bet that there is a lot of people who are now considering putting that car in the garage, cover it with a sheet and lock it up until someone at that garage can work out how to get it running good again!!!
The point I am making here is simple. This is nothing to do with our computers or how much memory you have, or how fast your processor runs. This is a simple case of a game with so many cliches that it's strangling its self to death. We have no choice with regards to the upgrades and I do not accept that folk have got to learn how to put this file there and change this file to that in order to run a piece of software. If its not broke, don't fix it!!!. If you are happy with how your game is performing, then you should be permitted to leave it be, but with automatic upgrading... !!!!.
I apologize if this post is coming across a little sorrowful, I am as frustrated as most others right now, wondering why hours and hours of work was done in vain. I think its time for the powers to be, get their heads together and sort these problems out. Sooner rather than later, or a number of folk will be reaching for that dust sheet and locking this up in the garage until the right fixes are found. There are major issues with this game and they need sorting out.....SOON.
Have a good and safe day.
Mark.

Well I've deleted the scenario this was related to, its clearly broken somehow. I managed to write another short one between Reading and Oxford, no problems, no SBHH despite jumping between editor and driving. I have a feeling it may just have been that one scenario.
Still doesn't explain the bizarre pathing. Can someone else with the route see if they can get an IEP (or any electric unit) to use the slow lines through Acton.

I wonder if the problem is related to slow re-drawing of lofts since the last update.
Derek has confirmed that RS.com use the same tools as we do (except for career mode) and that there is a problem with the slow re-drawing of lofts for which there is a fix currently being beta tested. If there are any other common problems then RS.com will be experiencing those as well, so we can be reasonably assured that they know what we know and will try and fix those problems for all of us if they can.

The Bacup Branch was started in Rail Simulator and can only be run in legacy mode so it is built in that. Before the last update I could route route build away without any problems now all I get is SBHH.
We keep getting told contact support So we do but what happens.????
I am very lucky to have other trainsim programes to use.
Most of my problems have been solved hear on the forum

John

2 things where i get the most SBHH :
1) in editor, when i cut off the no more needed part, from reconnected track , road or river.
2) in scenario , when i place a free roam marker , and go to far away from that .

May or may not be related but I do all editing and placing of stock etc with all settings to low and always in windowed mode I find if not and i sudenly go to move on to the next station then I can(not always Mind) get SBHH, I have found that TSX on or off makes no difference apart from newer assets having a dark overlay to them with it turned off. I dont think it is memory related or heat build up as the monitor shows cpu usage at around 25%, memeory about the same, and core temps around the 40 to 50 degs mark so no real problems there, however if steam sudenly starts an update it will crash the sim. I just cant link one specific thing to any crashes, but I do not get them very often any more, infact since i moved from AMD to NVIDA product i have had very few indeed.

I spend 90% of my time building my route. However, last week i decided to create a scenario , placing AI trains and filling up yards with rollingstock. Like most of you, I have tons of repainted cars and engines. While i was making the scenario everything was running fine, but when i exited railworks and went back into to edit the scenario, the SBHH said hello.
I started over,
placing only default RSC engines and cars, making the scenario exactly the same as the first scenario,
not one single SBHH yet. Not only does reskinned engines seem to crash the scenario editor, but reskinned cars as well.
Problem is, of all those placed rolling stock, which one causes the crash?

It would take weeks to find out, " placing one car, hitting the play button, everything ok, back to scenario editing, placing another car, hitting the play button and so on..... "
After the last update, FPS has increased, and the stuttering is almost gone as long as the 30fp lock is applied, all good things. The scenario editor is another thing though, it takes forever to load lofts and it seems to crash more than in previous "versions".

Hi all
I agree with you all who get SBHH messages.
I never used to get them before RailWorks 1.
Then not many with RailWorks 2.
Now.. It's ridiculous how often I get them.
I've sent 12 emails with dmp files to
support@railsimulator.com since 11th February 2012
They said that my system is high spec and then they sent this, in one of their reply's.
Unfortunately we do not offer customer or technical support for products or additional add-on content which is produced by third party developers. Please contact the developer of the product in question directly for further support.
My reply was.
I am reporting your software crashes, not third party software.
Every time you get a dmp file message, SEND IT!
Maybe they will get the message & just maybe some common problem will surface from the dmp files.
Make sure you tell support exactly what you where doing prior to the SBHH.
Cheers
Alex

Back to the original issue.
Has anyone noticed a disproportionate amount of SBHHs on Kieth's GWML? I've started getting them again, only 1 train (timing the player train) and random SBHHs are back. Interestingly it performed flawlessly between Reading-Oxford but now I'm working at the Paddington end again the SBHHs are back.
