No difference between the versions, the serial keys you get from Aerosoft are redeemable on Steam someone said on Rail-Sim.de - so in the end only the point of purchase is different.

Re: Köln-Düsseldorf for Train Simulator 2012
I have to say that having driven this route a few times now I am very impressed with it. Only real beef I have is that the roof seems a little low at Cologne Hbf so that the catenary and Pantographs cut right through it. Not sure if there is a forum for this on the aerosoft website, has anyone else on here noticed this problem?

Yes, it is a nice route, especially when you start swapping out the default models for the VR and freeware stuff where possible. Better sounds and more variety. I think the catenary height is a Railworks limitation, but I could be wrong. I suspect there will be a thread for this route on the aerosoft general forum, but I haven't looked yet.

My point about the catenary was more that the glass front of the station roof is too low so that the catenary goes through it. Couldn't see one yet on the Aerosoft general forum.holzroller wrote:Yes, it is a nice route, especially when you start swapping out the default models for the VR and freeware stuff where possible. Re: Köln-Düsseldorf for Train Simulator 2012
My point was that I believe that the height of catenary is fixed in RW, could be wrong, but if right then the route builder had a couple of unenviable choices. There is a thread running on Railsim.de with input from the route builder http://rail-sim.de/forum/board38-railwo ... Csseldorf/ release was around page 16. If you don't have German google translate is your friend

So has the initial general disappointment given way to a level of general contentment? Quite intrigued by this route.

Well apart from the one or two issues - yes I am very pleased with it.

If you have a sim that has to live from the "looks" ( and where the physics and the AI are.... ) its a bad idea :ihavenonamenoreallyidont wrote:So has the initial general disappointment given way to a level of general contentment? Quite intrigued by this route.
- to place buildings with low resolution textures close to the track .
- to make large parts of the route only one tile wide , and then to populate only half of that tile .
- to place house-front lofts , that are made for far distance , at 200 meter from the track .
- not to make an extra autoroute loft that is on one side open ; now all autoroutes are blocked by the driveways and exits .

It's not WCML, but it is fairly fps friendly, which I believe was the idea. Has a few errors, but it's a nice run and if you are able to swap out most of the default stuff with VR & Freeware, it's even better. I believe that the route builder will produce an update at a later date to address any problems. I suspect that there will be a few scenarios appear for this one as well.

Re: Köln-Düsseldorf for Train Simulator 2012
Thankfully you're wrong on this point. GARL definitely had lower wiring than the "standard" height used on the default Hagen, Seeburg and Paddington routes, which is why the Class 380 DLC comes with two models of the pantograph car.holzroller wrote:My point was that I believe that the height of catenary is fixed in RW, could be wrong...

Re: Köln-Düsseldorf for Train Simulator 2012
Problem is of course all the German stock is set up for the default heights, so unless they wanted to build stock incompatible with the other routes available, or have a route incompatible with the other stock available, they didn't have a lot of option but to stay with it. Not sure if it would look any better if the buildings had been raised to compensate. Forgot to say this is also a drivers view route for the most part.
