Routes are like buses, you wait for ages and then several turn up over a short period !

Hmm, expiration at the end of April is a little soon for my taste. With no current products at JT (other than this route) on my wishlist, I'll just be waiting and purchasing on / after release and probably having a look at reveiews first. Not really sure why the discount would need to expire at all really, it very much takes the edge off the incentive to pre-order.

Lol yeh honestly, its a bonus for preordering, it's a gift horse.
The route itself is cheaper than the usual cost of the routes and you get points for buying it.

Just ordered this now to hope that the Voyager will come out before the end of April to spend the £5 on. But if not it's not the end of the world I'll still have a great route and 245 points.

The £5 voucher seems like a very generous offer to me, as it equates to a minimum ~25% discount on any RW product by JT

At a guess no, the original route was built with the original Railworks.
