Thanks Paul, if I cloned the route and started replacing signals with the Thomson ones, do you think it would take a long time?

I suspect it would be an awful lot of work, yes. In my opinion, although the signalling is "basic" for want of a better word, it fits in with the rest of the route - it works, gives the impression of the location and generally does the job.

Buggy bug with my scenario, unable to run round at Dundee. Successfully detached and drew forward to reverse and round the train, albeit unsignalled move over the points on to the Down Loop. Ran back to the shunt point on the DM at Dundee East, reversed at which point I got my "Right Away" message to be displayed after recoupling, the marshall instruction disappeared and I promptly derailed on the main line points trying to get back into Dundee as the sim had (presumably) set these for setting off towards Perth.

It's little wonder we see so few scenarios for this game. Hours wasted - I suppose I could see if leaving out the shunt point at Dundee East enables me to do an unsignalled move back on the train, but at this stage I can't be bothered to spend another 95 minutes of real time driving to that point. I don't know whether it's the route or the inherent inefficiency of the Railworks AI/signaller itself. Maybe I'll make Dundee the final destnation, maybe I'll just scrap the whole thing, but RSC really need to start getting their act together and fixing up the game so it can actually do more than driving from A to B.

Thirteen have been uploaded to UKTS alone in the last week.

Thanks so much for your support and understanding... :(

Out of those 13, how many are attempting complex AI or a run round move which the game appears unable to cope with?

One solution might be to swap the player train for a Class 101 DMU rather than Class 26 loco hauled (which will also prevent issues with any accompanying screenshot). However, the scenario editor won't let you copy a command string to another train and I'm not sure that RW Tools will let you swap in a DMU power car vice a diesel loco.

It will. RW_Tools sees all driving or powered DMU/EMU vehicles as diesel/electric locomotives.

Sorry :(

It sounds like the problem may be due to you trying to set up an unsignalled move, which seems to have the potential to play havoc with points settings. Would it be possible to add additional waypoints to the instructions for this manoeuvre, which might "force" the game to accept the path?

No worries Steve!

I suspect you could be right about the unsignalled move throwing things. However I think I will go for cloning the scenario and swapping in the Met Cam (for the player train), at least it can do a simple reversal at Dundee and of course still classic traction. :)

Does this route come with any stock, and if so what?

Just reskins of existing default items (HST and Class 166 into a semi fictional "Scottish Railways" livery). If you own the JT Voyager pack, there's a bonus scenario included for that.

Thanks, What would be used on the real life route, instead of 166?

Would I be right in thinking 170, 156 and maybe 158s?

170s mostly, some 158s. 156s find very little (almost no) use on the Edinburgh - Aberdeen line.

Thanks, looks like I'm looking at the Edinburgh to Glasgow route too in that case for the 170.

That's the direction I am heading in as well. Roll on payday!

One of the scenarios appears to be for the Class 158. Although having the Class 158 is not listed anywhere as a requirement for this route. ?
