Jos,
I spent all evening going through as many scenarios as I could to see why they didn't work and most of them have missing stock and a few have broken consists. I know that all the missing items are there because I checked and double checked. The path that the Asset File is using must be different from their actual path. RWTools should be able to fix this once I understand how to use it after reading the helpme pdf manual. As for the marker in the 9F scenarion, can RWTools position it for me as the Lat and Long are given for the marker in the reason for not loading the scenario? With the wagon, I unlocked the scenario and picked the wagon from the list and put it in myself. Since then, when I try to load the scenario the only message I get is about the marker. I've already uninstalled and re-installed a few times and then I get two reasons for not loading, the marker and the wagon, again! I'm going to have to get to grips with RWTools sooner rather than later and sort out these problems.
Mike Simpson asks for a donation to get a license for RWTools, what is the going rate?

Many a steam locomotive driver has had a tender moment,
Regards, John.

Hi John

Some of the problems with the scenarios have to do with the upgrading of Railworks to RS2012. Broken Consists are normally resolved the easy way by clicking 'edit' on the screen that shows 'Broken Consists'. In the editor you do nothing but click on the orange arrow in the bottom right-hand corner. When the window to save changes appears click 'yes' to save. In most cases your broken consists are gone :D
I am at work and not at my RW home PC but RW tools, for the simpler actions that is, is fairly easy to understand. For swapping of rolling stock (assets) you click on the "Edit Scenario" tab. On the next split screen you click on the route in the top screen and the scenarios for the route will appear in the bottom screen. Click/highlight the scenario you want to edit. After a little while you will get a new window that has all information for the scenario. The consists are in the left-middle top area; when you highlight one of them, all assets that are in the consist show next to it: right middle top area. The asset you want to swap you highlight, then go to the area at the bottom right where you see your RW file folder tree. Go find 'assets' click on it and you will see all the subfolders from the different asset developers, s.a Kuju, DT, RSC, RSDL etc. and find the folder your desired asset is in. For example the 16T mineral "OLD BR1", since this is a reskin of the default wagon, you will find in the Kuju folder. Go as far as needed into the folder, at least till you find the 'railvehicles' folder, and if more than one asset in this folder, click on the asset folder itself. For example '16T mineral'. Make sure you click on the type of asset in the filter screen directly above the RW folder tree screen, click for example 'freight' and click on search (at least that is what I think this is called; out of my head/not at my pc) You will see the available assets appear that are in the folder with the filter applied (in the example, all 'freight' assets). Next step is you highlight the item you want to swap AND the item that you want to replace it with. Then click the SWAP button from the action buttons in the middle, either for this one item or 'for each consist'. Try it out. This is only meant as a guideline to make it easier (I hope :D ) to get you started. As I said, I write this all out of memory, not being at my PC, so some of the wordings in RWTools may be a bit different.
There is no going rate for the donation, but Mike Simpson does not accept a donation below $2.00. I think I donated $10,00 which is well worth the money for me.

Good luck/have fun
Jos

Jos,
I'm not lucky. This is the third time I've written this message because it appears to keep timing out. So, all I have to do to fix a broken consist is open the scenarion, wait for the dialogue box with EDIT & EXIT and click on EDIT, then click on the arrow at the bottom RH corner of the screen. Does the scenario have to be locked or unlocked? If you can give me a step by step guide to swapping rolling stock assets it would be a big help to me. Just think of me as an idiot. I know I'm a pain in the butt, but I need to get up to speed with TS2012 asap so I can enjoy it fully with out any errors etc. I'm going to have a go at placing the marker in the 9F scenarion this weekend using the editor in TS2012 as Mike from RWTools said his prog will not load up any missing markers. Wish me luck!

Regards, John.

Hi John

Yes that is how the broken consists should go away that are caused by compatibilty issues with the new version of Railworks, aka RS2012. 'Real' broken consists would not be resolved this way though. But try this first and you'll be surprised how often this does the trick.

As for step-by-step guide to swap rolling stock, I gave you sort of a guidance already for this in my last post; try this first and let me know if it works. If you have problems let me know too. Don't forget to clear the cache after you swap rolling stock/assets.

I will be interested to know if you can resolve the marker issue. I have not touched such areas in the sim yet. However, it still puzzles me why you have this problem at all. :o

Jos,
This is the voice of inexperience talking here. There are two files with the same title as above, one is UKTS 23987 for Port Road v3 and the other is UKTS 24789 for Port Road DLC, so I unistalled both and then re-installed them. Then I looked through all the additional freeware that I installed for the scenarios in the Kuju wagons folder and discovered that the Grey_Van UKTS 18133 was in the wrong part of the Kuju folder. I put into the correct folder. Then I opened both scenarios and the missing marker errors had disappeared, and both scenarios are working OK. So, now I can drive the same 9F on both versions of The Port Road. I wonder if this is the same fix for the marker errors I am getting for the scenario in Leafy Suburbs?

Regards, John.
