Oovee 57 update
Has anyone heard about any updates for 57? Oovee seem to have gone very quiet as of late

Re: Oovee 57 update
More than just the 57 update that we're waiting for..
Anyhow, as "I" understand it from their Facebook page. They want to finish "Spin Tyres", the class 156 update is still being worked on but nowhere near ready, just released a soundpack for a flight simulator, the US loco that they were going to be releasing next is put on hold (delayed till the Autumn). The cynic in me (and is not fact) is saying that Railworks has taken a backseat at Oovee and frankly who can blame them, until the core is 100% stable and unlikely to have any more major breakages, what is the point of them releasing updates to find them broken in 3, 6, 12 months time. Again that last sentence is the cynic in me and NOT fact!!! before wild rumours fly around the RW world.

Completely agree with your wild cynic speculation.AndyM77 wrote:More than just the 57 update that we're waiting for..![]()

Re: Oovee 57 update
Have to agree is well with the speculation above, from the facebook page one could get the impression that Oovee have forgotten about railworks with the wall being full of people demanding information on updates and silence on part of the Oovee staff (unless it's about Spin Tires of course).
Am now known as Zm-Yeti/Yetiworks. more to match other online accounts.

Re: Oovee 57 update
Their most recent comment on Facebook is that the 156 update is nearly ready. Historically, Oovee have always been somewhat over-optimistic with regards to expected release dates and are perhaps simply not pre-announcing so far in advance of completion these days. They're also a fairly small team I believe, so I expect they will probably be prioritising one project at a time. Not sure what the comments about core stability are getting at; it's the most stable it's ever been in my opinion

Re: Oovee 57 update
Deadly serious. I can't actually remember the last time I had a random SBHH while driving the sim that wasn't attributable to a dodgy asset/texture somewhere. I'm not claiming it's perfect but stability isn't a problem as far as I can seestyckx wrote:*insert joker not sure if serious picture here*FoggyMorning wrote:Their most recent comment on Facebook is that the 156 update is nearly ready. Re: Oovee 57 update
Well, Oovee hasn't responded to a technical support question I emailed on 23 January and followed up on 6 February (yes, I was assigned a ticket number by their system). Let's hope the reason for such a non-response is that they're beavering away, hmm?

Re: Oovee 57 update
I've given up on Oovee to be honest and as stated above, in my view they've moved on to other ventures. I don't have a problem with it but there comes a time when you have to be realistic and read the writing on the wall. It has been an enormously long time since we heard anything from Camp Oov so you simply have to draw your own conclusions. It's easy to see which RW developers are active and which are either extinct or so reduced in scope that they're practically extinct.
The class 57 was released a long time ago now and for a while we were close to getting a second version (VT Thunderbirds I believe) but it never happened and it's all gone silent since. Wasn't it also Oovee who made a big announcement in Jan last year about a Kings Cross / East Anglia route?? but then it too went completely off the radar and has not been heard of since.
Big shame because Oovee were a top notch supplier and made some cracking add-ons.

Re: Oovee 57 update
So much wild, negative speculation based on nothing at all but guess work. Who does this help exactly?

Re: Oovee 57 update
It's guesswork because the supplier has gone silent for a very long time. It's not as if there have been daily threads popping up about Oovee for months is it? I actually thought it's a very informative thread because it enables you to get a sanity-check that you've not missed something and that everyone is thinking the same thing.andynwt wrote:So much wild, negative speculation based on nothing at all but guess work. Regarding the speculation thing, one of the golden rules of business, lack of communication breeds speculation.
