See my other post. If that was the intent then why cite framerates that don't even correspond to the "evidence" witnessed in the video?

I must find a way to work that into day to day usage.

Re the NDA discussion, not really sure why we're banging on about it here; if RSC has a problem with people speaking about the beta now that the update is available I am sure they'll take whatever action is necessary. Incidentally, it's quite tough to check the terms of the NDA since it was only displayed on initial signing up.

I know that I don't see a lot of the problems that people on here post about, or maybe I just have lower standards!! And who is the majority - the people who are vocal on here, or the people who are not?
Or the third more plausible case: The BETA testers reported issues, but due to there being 300 reports (led to believe it could be nearer the 250 mark), the Railsimulator team simply didn't have time to read and note each and every little bug and only looked out for major "Game won't start" type issues.

After all, we know that the support email address often results in long response times...

Rather than blame, x, y & z how about we just concentrate on the original point of the thread which was to discuss the upgrade and whether or not it's fixed things :)

Ok folks:

Discussions about NDA's etc - off topic and worse than conjecture. Drop it. If RSC have a problem i'm sure someone will have spotted the post by now and will be taking action.

Discussions comparing OpenRails and TS2012 - This topic is talking about core updates. The video from OpenRails was very interesting and shows MSTS content in a wonderful light, however how that relates to an equivalent video from TS2012 is completely unknown without knowing a lot more about the OpenRails video. For those that want to compare the two similar offerings in a reasonable and considered manner, presenting evidence backing up claims and generally doing it "properly" feel free to do so in another topic. For now, please end this comparison within this thread.

AndyM77 - I think your closing advice is definitely what we should all be aspiring towards.

Just noticed that after rain (in the scenario just completed) as you slow down you now get run off! Nice touch and I never noticed that before. Still getting poorer performance though and stuttering with pauses again! Grrrr.

I was driving the Baureihe 101 which I have to say having been updated by our German friends has made it an enjoyable driving experience.

hi ,
i was placing trees ( separate ) and all of a sudden all my tracks turned brown ; its a single line route with double track parts ;
the double track part were yellow.
I was not selecting track , and it was over all my route , not just a short part .
I backed up the latest stand of my route , and then i saved;luckily it worked again afterwards .
Is there a shortcut key for that, that i perhaps pressed by accident ?

Yep, sounds like you accidentally hit the spacebar, which cycles through the track display modes.

It's the space key, it lets you cycle through several graphical versions of the properties and will show many different colours for various different properties it holds.

A little while ago, I think it was Vern, mentioned that the panto flashes were lighting up the whole cab in Woodhead. On computer No1 this did not seem to happen, you saw the flashed outside the cab window but not inside.

Now I am tuning up computer No 2 and the flashes are definitely inside the cab and are quite bright and alarming.

I am not sure why there should be this difference between the computers but one is XP and the other is W7 64 with different settings in the game.

If you are seeing flashes in the cab (lighting up the inside cab walls) then this is not the way they are meant to be seen.

Guilty as charged, Geoff. I was quite concerned at the effect this could have on someone who might be vulnerable to flashing lights etc.

Re the earlier comment about track turning yellow and brown, this is what happens when you hit the spacebar. Quick word of advice to erikkr, if it's brown then the property is still set to "Yard", presumably to access tighter curve radii, if you want to run passenger trains over it then you will need to highlight the affected sections and change properties to "Main Line".

Hi Vern

Sometimes it is difficult to appreciate a problem unless you see it yourself and then it all becomes clear as to what is actually happening.

And when reloading from a saved game, using a steam loco (in this case, the Flying Scotsman) - instant derail... It is good to see that the really serious bu.. eh, sorry, features, of this game gets priority, isn't it?

Thanks , that part i know .
Its a mountain line in the Andes with tight curves.
I run passengers trains over it myself , but i know , in a scenario , the AI wil not do that .
Changing the properties is something i do later .

edit : i have a switchback in that route on a steap mountain . Can the AI do a switchback ?
