Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Prompted by a comment in a recent post, it has occurred to me that some people may be trying to edit/create routes and scenarios with the sound domes still turned on which makes it very difficult to see what you are doing.
These can be visually turned off by clicking on the monitor icon in the top left fly-out window whilst in the route or scenario editors which enables a fly-out window in the top right of your screen where you can untick the box in the bottom right to make the domes disappear. The domes are still there and active, you just cannot see them.

Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Thankyou Geoff, I totally forgot about that way, removed them all from my route just to work on it.
Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
This will be very helpfull to many people.

If they are still there they can still get in the way! (Particularly true of those associated with level crossings I've found). The best thing to do is leave it as late as possible in the route build before adding them
Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Great tip for scenario editing. Thanks.
Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Thanks for this....put up with it until Woodhead which clearly has a lot of sound domes!

Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Some thing I found out lately.
As we all know the Level Crossing sound domes can play havoc with selecting assets close by.
If this happens, make sure the sound domes are turned on, move your mouse over the assets you've already placed. If one doesn't darken, as it does normally to indicate that is the asset you're just about to select, left click on the mouse.
Look towards the near by level crossing and you see the axis tool. Just lower the sound dome to below the ground using the blue up and down arrow. Don't worry that you're selecting or editing the actual level crossing, you are not, you are just moving the sound dome.
To be on the safe side though, before you follow the above procedure, click on the padlock in the bottom right hand corner of the editor to lock all track properties and stop you selecting anything to do with the level crossing apart from the sound dome. Just remember to unlock the padlock one you've done and save.
This will take the sound dome out of the equation during editing and once done editing, go under ground and select it again to lift it back into position.

For disclosure, I am affiliated with a third party developer however, I do not know anything about any future releases unless I'm working on them and even then, I'd be breaking years worth of built up trust to say anything about it
Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Phil you're a genious. Sound domes on MFL level crossings have been driving me mad.
I have been removing the LC's so that I can edit the route and then adding them back when the area is finished.
I'll give your suggestion a go later.

Re: Sound Domes in the way - Route & Scenario Editing
Thanks very much Phil, I will no longer have that horrid look of the route and I can actually click and move the mouse without moving or selecting a sound dome!
