I've had about 4 hours of installing assets swapping content from one folder to another and whatnot, on Hamburg-Bremen, I ended up with about 100 items missing, and thought I'd get away with going into the route without them, but, no chance, couldn't even get passed the splashscreen, so, I gave up, hopefully, I may get some help from this pack, plus whatever our German friends can update on their website, I'd love to play on this map, looks excellent.

I have to have this route and some other Euro routes running on a separate asset pack to get them to work so you could try that. My RW install is gigantic with about 8 asset sets to have all the routes running.

Hi

The steps I do are as follows:

Re name asset folder (e,g AssetMain)
On Steam Verify Local files - this creates a new Asset folder
Install route and assets plus any required rolling stock to new folder - nine times out of ten this gets route working
To use main asset folder again just re name both folders (e.g. Asset (new) to AssetHamburg and AssetMain back to Assets)

Apart from disk space considerations this works fine. Only point to note are:

I put a suitably titled text file in each folder so if I get confused (I have 9 sets) I can tell which is which.
Ensure you leave the main one as default to ensure periodic updates from steam update the main folder
You would have to copy over updated assets if you want them in the new folder
Your main Asset folder is protected

This means lots of routes that stop working or will not work in the first place are available to me. Two simple folder renames is all it takes to swap usable assets

One thing I did notice is that the 3 assets packs that you download the ones with the assets in zip files is that they all use the folder name "asset" in the zip file, where as the folder in railworks is name "assets" luckily I noticed this before I unzipped them into railworks folder.

A mod would have to do that Ice? @Chris I have the route working now after following the instructions, the question going begging is why? What is it about the original asset folder that is causing an api core crash? One issue I am having with the route apart from it tatering my framerates (Tracks?) is on the signals there is a square with missing textures? I have installed everything or so I think even the form signals but still these weird missing textures, any ideas anyone?

I downloaded this route and the asset files from the German website, and after renaming the unzipped asset folder "Assets" instead of "Asset" and copying into Railworks and installing the route file, everything worked fine.

RW_Tools does report some missing assets but the route loads fine and nothing appears missing - in fact it is incredibly detailed and the included scenarios seem to work OK. All the pop-up message windows in the scenarios are in English as well. It is hard on frame rates in places, but it is destined to become a classic!

I am not really a fan of continental railways but some of the recent releases have been fun to drive and of extremely high quality. This is a large route with a lot of variety, and comes highly recommended. It would be nice to see the route and all the required assets hosted on the UKTS file library so it can be enjoyed by the widest possible audience.

Noticed that too, but, unzipped all the packs and just copied the contained files into my Assetts folder, have found too many times with auto installers, that the name is slightly changed and then causes the route not to work. Anyway as said in an earlier post, everything installed as per the instructions ( apart from above ), Route set up and ran FIRST time no problems, ran the Introductory from Bremen to Hamburg now working through the BR52 special - yes working through due to time limitations currently preventing an enjoyable continual thrash.

Never did download the Ulm route but looks like I might do that soon !!!!

Yes the Ulm route is very similar in style. However is a long route end to end rather than one that radiates out from a point.

However has masses of scope for all sorts of scenarios. Runs from Stuttgart through Augsburg and Ulm and many other places to Munich. The tracking on the approaches to Munich are some of the biggest I have ever seen.

I think i read somewhere on the german forum that the Ulm route is being upgraded for RW2012 with new stations and so , being made by ice.

Indeed, it has,like the 218 been a wip for some time now, one can only assume it must be a massive improvement over the original, when Cologne Düsseldorf hits the shops those dosto's will slot nicely into the Geislinger.

Well, I'm stumped, I still have all of the following assets missing on this route according to my RW Tools, I cannot believe that I don't need them, theres loft items, track rules, etc, surely I require these, I still can't get passed the splashscreen, where did everyone get their content from, please ??
