[slips in quietly at the back of the room] I once sat in a Deltic drivers' seat - I'm 5' 9" and couldn't see the bonnet at all. The ex-FP driver who was conducting tours said "it's your job to watch the signals up there, not the scenery down there!" I think he was exaggerating to make a point, but the fact was that from the seat I couldn't see the bonnet. Goodness knows how you kept an eye out for trespassers, but presumably if you're bowling along at 100 mph with fourteen vacuum-braked Mk1s behind you it's not as if you can slam on the anchors if you see someone on the track.

Re: The Class 55 Update - A Community Project
Have tried reinstalling the update after renaming the files it replaces in the default kuju deltic folder. Still getting the same unhandled exception error with a size mismatch message. Pressing continue doesn't seem to do anything. Can anyone explain what I might be doing wrong? Many thanks.

I have found a Deltic view from the Drivers seat that does seem to show the Bonnet:

I guess it depends on how tall you are. I am 6' 4 so i would imagine that the Bonnet would be in my view from the drivers seat?

Okay, so tried downloading twice more. Eventually it installed. Presume it was a dodgy download.

Depends on the measurement from yer bum to your eyes...if you have long legs you could still be sat with a low eye level......exshunter wrote:I guess it depends on how tall you are. I am 6' 4 so i would imagine that the Bonnet would be in my view from the drivers seat?
