Just an update about the nose.. With the resources available right now. It can not be done. If someone with spare time wants to model just the top of the nose, that's all we really need to give the Deltic a nose in cab view.

An example of what is needed is shown here with the Class 37 cab. Just the top of the nose was modeled onto the cab. If someone wants to contribute and model that sliver of nose for the Deltic we can make it load as a child object in cab view and position it in place.

Hope someone can do this as it really would be the icing on the cake. It needs a nose so bad!!!

Might be a bit hard that, as a Deltic could provide max tractive effort, even when running on one power unit.

From the few photos that are available on Google, it doesn't look to me like you would

That video reminds me of RTL in the 90's. :o

Anyone who used to have the original Sky (before digital) will know.

We had the old analog Sky, but I can only remember watching UK Gold, Eurosport & Chips with Everything. :-? :P

Call me old fashioned but I like to drive from inside the cab and move the cab view back so I can see all the controls and use the mouse to move them. Unfortunately, when I do this the mouse won't operate them (this happens on some other cabs too). Is there any way to change this, or is it something built into the cab model itself?

Regards,

Len

That's got to be something with your setup my Deltic mouse control inside the cab works just fine. You should reset the camera back to default.

No, iirc you can't really see the nose on the default Deltic, the windows are too small and narrow, and the seat is too low down, you can barely see the oncoming signals, that is probably why RSC didn't give us a nose, as it wouldn't be seen properly from the drivers seat anyway, so, why bother making one.....

And the seat has to be in a position where any drivers feet will be able to depress the "dead man". :-?
Should we not have one of those under the computer desk? I've nodded off a few times when testing a long run scenario over and over?

If any of the sound on this clip is of any use, feel free to use it. (It was during my trip back to UK last year)

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=c770cef7 ... =documents

It is deltic 16 being removed from a train at ELR 6th March 2011 as it wouldn't stay running at idle. Only one engine of course.

My SkyDrive is acting weird at the moment so if it doesn't open up in the web browser then click the download link on the right of the screen and watch locally from your computer

I've sat in 'RSG's' and 'Gordon's' driver and secondman seats(I'm about 5ft 12 ish) and still couldnt see the bonnet but could see the line ahead... If anyone wants to do sound recordings on either ELR deltics maybe try and hire them out for a day, as all money paied towards 'RSG' and 'Gordon' will go towards keeping 'RSG' mainline worthy and operational whilst also helping restore 'Gordon' to mainline operation and keep it operating on the ELR. If anyone is brave enough to do sound recordings I recomend taking some ear defenders with you as both are extremely loud in the cab, and once past notch 7 they drone which isn't good if you have a head ache...
