Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
Well...if this 55 pack is going ahead, I don't suppose I could humbly suggest a redo of the green version to make the colours more vibrant and less dull/flat, I'm sure some folks on here would be able to provide some photographs to base the skins off aswell for reference sources.

I only use recordings I have permission to use of course. There is lots on YouTube but most is not under a license where I can sample the audio. Hence the reason why I was checking if the engine start was one of your own recordings or just one you found.
Another great idea. I wonder how accurate the physics are on the Deltic. Any one any thoughts on that? I suspect the resident physics guru Kariban might have a view or two on thisstyckx wrote:I'll contact zhubuntu also and see if he wouldn't mind if I include his cab light mod in it.

And scenarios?nobkins wrote:I sense a plan coming together!
Could this be a UKTS Freeware Deltic Pack? Skins from Bill and Ben (the re-skinning men) plus a cab from bill with maybe a new nose (nudge nudge Kariban) and sounds improvements (and maybe full custom sound with time).
Yum Yum
Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
The only thing I question about the deltic is it seems like it's using wax paper for brake pads.nobkins wrote:You my good manchrisiveson wrote:Which Chris would that be Jim?

*sigh* I'll look at the brakes
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Not my recording, sorry, I've had that on my hard drive for ages.
If it had have been, I would have left out the daft bits.
Chris.

I would hope the compression applied to audio tracks by YouTube would be just as much, if not more, of a deterrent than the licensing.nobkins wrote:I only use recordings I have permission to use of course. Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
If your going to do some sounds, be careful not to use recording from 55022 between 2009 and early 2010 as when it was running on 2 engines it had a napier boat engine(which was a total PITA if I'm honest) due to the serious failure of one of the engines, in 2010 it got a proper rail napier deltic engine put bac in from D9016(which is working on its second engine, I understand 55022s overhauled engine(the one that failied spectaculary in 2008 will be put in 16 so 'Gordon' could go mainline if the money is there. An overhaul of the RSC deltic would be great, I wonder if it is possible to be able to select which engine you want to run on i.e engine 1 or engine 2 or both...
Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
Sounds good, great thread and yes, absolutely yes to the Deltic overhaul. I think AP maybe making sounds for her too if I am not mistaken (although that certainly doesn't mean anyone else should stop).faedundee2 wrote:If your going to do some sounds, be careful not to use recording from 55022 between 2009 and early 2010 as when it was running on 2 engines it had a napier boat engine(which was a total PITA if I'm honest) due to the serious failure of one of the engines, in 2010 it got a proper rail napier deltic engine put bac in from D9016(which is working on its second engine, I understand 55022s overhauled engine(the one that failied spectaculary in 2008 will be put in 16 so 'Gordon' could go mainline if the money is there. PS Great work thus far Styckx
Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
Excellent overhaul job, Bill!
Plus, I love the idea of seeing the reason I bought RS all the way "back in the day" getting some TLC, so an overhaul including reworked sounds would be smashing! Maybe you guys can figure out why the AWS bell goes "dink" or disappears altogether?
Cheers, Rik.

Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
That's an easy one. The sound file (T_55_HW_SunBell.dav) only has one feeble ding in it! Copy and rename the corresponding Class 47 one (...\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\Audio\RailVehicles\Diesel\Class 47\Cab\T_47_HW_SunBell.dav) to replace it.Wikkus wrote:... Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
Thanks for the re-done cab Bill, gives the loco a whole new lease of life. Just as an aside, might it be worth adding to the description that this will need to be reinstalled following a cache verification?
Re: The Class 55 Cab Project
I think I am right in saying the version Bill has uploaded is like the AP sound packs so yes would need re-installing after a verify. However, the Class 55 update (cab, skins, physics, sounds) will be all in their own folders and not overwrite any default items.
