WCML N Smooth as Silk

Post by tofwings »

Hey Everyone

Just thought i would let you all know that i have WCML Running very very smoothly at the moment,
I dont seem to be getting any of the FPS drop offs down to 14fps etc etc, In fact im hardly getting any drop offs ( slight around Polmadie and Glasgow , but nothing like what i used to see.)

Im attributing this to the upgraded firmware of my 2 SSD Drives ( Crucial M4 128Gb )
After upgrading to Ver 309 from 009 i noticed a significant increase in PC Boot up time and general PC speed,
So i thought OK lets see how it handles WCML @ 1920x 1080 with TSX On Passenger set to Low & Shadows off ,No Flora , all other on high ,
Loaded "One of Nine " from firetrap, and blimey, as per the heading "Smooth as Silk " .....
I can only assume that things will get even better ( or worse ) after the coming update to fix the multi core useage

This post is not a dig at people ( or a na na na na naaaa ) who are having problems with WCML ( or for some who cant use it at all ),
I just wanted to let the people with SSD Drives know that an improvement may be achieved by using the latest firmware

Specs
Asus Z68 Mb......Intel i5 clocked at 4.3 Ghz......8 Gb Ram......ATI 6870 1 Gb gddr5......2 x 128 Crucial M4 SSD Drives....( 1 for the OS Win 7 64 Bit , and one which is solely used for RW )......1 x 1Tb for junk .....

Cheers
Brian
