Edinburgh - Glasgow Scenario ?

Post by rayhere45484548 »

When I try to run the Winters fail scenario, the scenario go to edit mode. It seems like DT for got to put the player
consist in the scenario. I have checked it with RW_tools and verified the route and nothing shows up as wrong. Just can not play the scenario. Will continue to try but was hoping I was not the only one with this problem. I hope all this makes sense, because it is driving me crazy. Well sorry to waste time with this, but had to ask.

Worked fine for me. :P
In the editor or RW Tools the DT class 40 is the player loco.
In the scenario editor, check the timetable that there is "(P)" for the player train.

Is it a timetabled scenario without a player train selected i.e. you have click on the loco? Or is it just not loading at all? Try a verify cache, it was mentioned in another thread that this solved the problem.

It's just a standard scenario Ben, that loads straight into the player train.

Ah great i will try that, i had hoped to find some scenarios for that route. Are there any steam era acts for it? I suppose it is unlikely, as I have not seen a lot of steam era equipment yet for the Scottish lines.

Hi Ray,

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with one of my scenario's.

When you say it goes to edit mode do you mean you get a "scenario failed to load" box which gives you the options of edit or exit? If so then the error box will give you details of what the problem is, for example "Consist builder-Cant load rail vehicle".

I take it that you've double checked you have all the requirements for the scenario, which are:

Thomson: Edinburgh Glasgow Route
Digital Traction: Class 40, Mk1 and Mk2 coach packs
RSC: Class 37 and class 101 packs and Bristol Exeter Route
Oovee: TEA tanks
UKTS Freeware: Classic Diesel and Electic, UK Coach and UK Wagon packs

Since you mention DT specifically I'm wondering if the problem might be with the version of the class 40. The scenario uses the latest, gold, version and it may be that you have the original, silver, version installed in your RW. I don't know if the scenario will work with either version but if it turns out that its only the gold one that will work I'll update the requirement listing in the scenario description.

Hope this helps.

I ran it first with the old 40 using RW Tools but the cabview was screwed.
Only just purchased the sale 40 yesterday, swapped back to that with RWT and all's still well.
( with the added bonus of being able to actually see where you're going. )
So yes, it will work with any version if swapped with RWT. :P
