File validation not working?

Hi Everyone,
I can confirm that changing the settings on steam i changed from London to Sydney rebooted steam and tried to verify again.

It went up to 100% and then told me i had 7700 files missing and off it went downloading.

I might add that i removed the wcml as it was faulty

Woohoo!! Success at last!

I changed my location to New South Wales on the advice of my misses (her sister lives there and it is the middle of the night right now), and sure enough, it has done the trick!

I did try this yesterday, but i changed my location to Manchester from London, but obviously this didn't work.

Right, after losing Oxford - Paddington, I've reinstalled RailWorks, took me 10 hours to download, still experiencing some scenario problems so am verifying the cache in Russia.

Hope it won't take too long!

I can put in a good word for the Australia - SA (Internode) server, it's a great server and just a half-hour time difference to Sydney. I'll actually be walking right past their HQ later today on my way down to the cricket at the wonderful Adelaide Oval.

Best of all, when you use this one you're supporting an ISP which has a very gamer-friendly approach, they have arranged things so that their users get unlimited Steam downloads which don't count towards their monthly bandwidth quota.

The file validation process surely must be broken.

Following the suggestions about trying other Steam servers I have just moved my entire RSDL folder from Assets on to my desk top, changed the Steam sever to Australia SA (Internode), restarted Steam and undertaken yet another verify. As usual it took about half an hour and gave the now predictable result at the end ‘all files successfully verified’.
