Re: Trains and Drivers announces two new route projects
Personally I like to see new payware announced and more importantly discussed in these forums - why not have a separate forum for this as does the RW America site?

I agree, would be great to see what payware we have to look forward to.longbow wrote:Personally I like to see new payware announced and more importantly discussed in these forums - why not have a separate forum for this as does the RW America site?
Great to hear about the Victoria to Brighton route, sounds like it'll be awesome.

Oh, yes, Yes, YES ... looks fantastic !micaelcorleone wrote:ALASKA RAILROAD MAINLINE (southern part)
You can get a better impression of planned trackage if you look at this map:
Oh, no, No, NO ... "Anchorage and Seward", that's such a small part of the route on the map.micaelcorleone wrote:This route is a representation of Alaska RR's mainline between Anchorage and Seward, including the branchline to Whittier.
Oh, yes, Yes, YES ... "more than 110 miles", well, that will do for a start !micaelcorleone wrote:That's more than 110 miles Anchorage - Seward plus another 12 miles for the branchline to Whittier.
Seriously, the route north of Anchorage would be of more interest to me, but the planned route could be very tempting. I'll be watching progress with much interest,
Thanks for the advance notice,

Well I've conferred with RSC in the recent past and it sounds like they are choc a block with projects in their schedule, also I don't know of any situations in the past where people pestering a publisher have led to them doing the project. Not being pessimistic, but this is what generally happens.Slammer423 wrote:Well, If we pester RSC enough in the new year....AndyM77 wrote:As long as a 442 comes as NSE & SWT then I wouldn't mind... I just can't bring myself to call the London - Brighton a "home" route for the 442's, since they were specifically built for the 'Wessex' line(s) with the odd trip thrown down to Portsmouth now and again.

MrWho, the line south of Anchorage to Seward has some fantastic scenery on it. I have seen videos of the daily passenger train that runs that route. We can hope that they will extend the route north at Fairbanks in the future.
Re: Trains and Drivers announces two new route projects
Just a little hint of whats going on! Victoria - Brighton will include some other tactful stations rather than just the Mainline, as well as those very nearby. This will include stations such as Hove, Reigate, Norwood Junction & West Croydon plus a few more!

As someone who likes to keep himself firmly in the 50's and 60's I'm just wondering if I put any three digits together preceeded by the word "Class" would it be sure to invoke cries of "Wow we really need one of those" followed by posters adding or subtracting a digit to more "wows and yes we need one of those too" I then have to google said numbers just to find they all look the same anyway
just kidding

I'm looking forward to this as I used to live on St James's Drive up the road from Wandsworth Common station, happy times spent there.

Will this Class 377 be the dual voltage one?

I think that applies to anyone north of the Watford Gap more or less - gosh-danged Southern Region with it's indecipherable acronyms!yerkes wrote:Very droll! Who knows - perhaps it feels very similar for the younger generation when they hear talk of a VEP/VEG, CEP/BEP, HAL/HAP, CIG/BIG, etc? Not, of course, that these look remotely like each other

Re: Trains and Drivers announces two new route projects
I'm looking forward to the prospect of another 3rd rail route; and especially one including a busy London terminus. Good luck modelling the Clapham Junction - Victoria section; the trackwork will be very difficult to get correct around that area.
I'd like to see some more of the second gen EMU's in the coming months to go with this route

Hope I don't sound too patronising with this; but I hope the route makes use of easement curves; you really notice their effects from that video
