Awesome. Only thing we need is a repaint so the ballast matches the track bed. Hmmmmmm.

Exactly, Bill. The camber looks great in small stations, but when seen against a wider expanse of track bed, the contrasting colors look, IMHO, awful.

I think Mike Simpson did a greyish makeover that might blend better with the track bed color. There's a pic of it in this post: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 8#p1223608

About 3 months ago I went out and photographed a bunch of track and ballast.. Never used it till now.. So I "started" the reskin of the ballast on the camber track using my own source photos.

Thanks! It's not over yet... Now that I have the grey ballast down (besides editing out the subtle hints of repeating texture) I need to make my new gray ballast brown. That's easy.. Now.. I need to clone the camber directory and re-edit the tracks.bin and put the grey camber in place where it belongs, and the brown camber where it belongs since the track bed goes from gray-brown throughout the route.. I need to check the author of the camber tracks rules readme about repaint distribution too. Should be fun!

Holy cow batman.. I managed.. Somehow to pull it off.. I'm kinda of just going about this on the fly.. I've changed track before.. But never got this heavily involved with perfecting an entire route to transition the ballast seamlessly. Done for the day.. This is pretty involved.. I need to sit on this before I continue on.

Will it blend? Yes! (Letterman) Stunning, Bill. I had a feeling you'd keep working on this tonight. :D

Thanks.

Me too. I'm going to move over to the WIP screen shot thread.. This thread served its purposes enough.. It's an entirely different beast now.

Would it be allowed to give out the 'Tracks.bin' file? As such, you couldnt do anything with it as you'd need a few other files for anything to appear.
