Point Lights turning off

I'm trying to resolve an issue I'm having with point lights in a route turning off, and would appreciate if anyone else has had the same issue.
This has happened to me about 5 times now, so i'm considering it to be an actual issue.
Point lights that i've placed in routes seem to turn off after a while. The gizmo for the light remains in the route, and adding exactly the same light in the editor emits light, even though the same light installed previously does not. This is verified by clicking on both and the same .xml filename shows in the right hand flyout.
The lights that seem to suffer are my own version of the point light from
however they are just the default with the daynight line from the default spotlight added - that doesn't seem to have the same issue. I am fairly certain I have experienced the same issue with default point light as well though.
The usual steps of verify cache and deleting bak files have been done with no difference. I'm trying to find what triggers this - I will investigate whether applying the AP lighting (time of day) pack is causing it, as that is the only thing I can think of that I've changed in the route that is at all related.
Any thoughts gratefully recieved.
