Re: Getting Candlewick
Hi,
Jim, let me start by saying a BIG thank you for your input which has raised the level of enjoyment I personal get from the sim.
Now for the interesting bit, Package manager says I have IOW_rs installed.
(purchased from Rail Simulator Developments Ltd way back when steam was what came out of kettles)
RW-Tools says it does not exist as a route.
and Train Simulator 2012 v7.1a does not show it as a route.
I have no RailWorks\Content\Routes\6268b042-6154-4ec9-b060-bcc702dd18e3\
but the assets are used often.

Now for the basic question...... how to get it to show as a route once more. Find it and reinstall as a legacy?
Or can I just copy the folder from my "Rail Simulator\Contents\Routes\" install

Rossnobkins wrote:The installer checks for the existence of the IOW Route. If that does not exist it tells you it is missing. Now it maybe that the RS Version has some different files and so it fails the detection process. Can you help me out by supplying some info and I will see if I can sort that out for you.
First of all are you using RailWorks?
Does the following folder exist in your installation:
RailWorks\Content\Routes\6268b042-6154-4ec9-b060-bcc702dd18e3\
If so please tell me if there is a "RouteProperties.xml" file in there.
A screenshot of the contents of that folder would be a big help.
Thanks
Jim

Re: Getting Candlewick
Now that is a good question but I am not sure I have the answer as I would need to have access to what you have to be able work it out.class43HS125 wrote:Now for the basic question...... how to get it to show as a route once more. Find it and reinstall as a legacy?

Lets see if anyone else has an idea of how to get the original RS IOW route into TS2012.

Hi Ross.
I would be inclined to try the re-install as legacy mode, it certainly won't do any harm.
Regards,
Dave

Re: Getting Candlewick
Hi Ross,
It might be worth trying to copy the folders from your RS installation to RW as you first suggested, see if that works other than that you will probably have to wait like you said, but either way I hope you get it sorted.
regards,
Dave.

Re: Getting Candlewick
Hi,
Is a fun game that's for sure.
I tried copying the route folder from my RS install but it made no difference.
tried the Legacy concept and got the results in my previous post so I had a think and back came the advice as to the "official" way to get RS content into RW........ package it in RS and then use RW package manager to import the rpk file into RW.
RW said that heaps of stuff was already installed but The IOW route now runs in TS2012 v7.1a
AND Candlewick is now installed.
Jim, all is well with the UKTS freeware pack installer
And yet another evenings entertainment has been provided by RW
I really must get around to actually driving a train some day
