Re: Just Trains Class 67
I have posted this on Facebook any help would be appreciated
Been trying to buy the 67 and class 20 however each time my payment goes through it say's we are contacting your bank please provide your details when prompted below, another screen then appears and says
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Which means I can't buy the add-on's tried in Firefox and the same thing happens.

Nice to hear that they're prototypical on this, definitely a significant plus point for me.Kariban wrote:The brakes on these, the 66, the 60 and the 58 all work the same: push forwards and you add a bit of brake until you let go, then it goes back to centre and the brakes stay at that level. Pull back and you remove brake until you let go again. Unfortunately until now only the 58 did it properly, and the 60 got halfway ( the rate you can add/remove brakes on the real jobs is fixed, not proportional like the 60 is atm ), so I can see how people need to get used to how they work.
Of course, the next question I'm almost afraid to but cannot help ask --apologies for the deviation from topic -- is how big a deal would it be to "fix" the brakes on the 66 and the 60?

Re: Just Trains Class 67
Hi,
I think it's pretty good from what I've seen so far, which is about an hours driving.
Yes, it can be considered a little pricey but that is offset somewhat by the fact you getting four IPA wagons with it. The quality of them is also good.
If you consider a loco on it's own will set you back in the region of £14 to £15 and it's not uncommon to sell wagons for £5, I think it makes for a reasonable price.
I also offset the price a little by using up some of my "points" I've accumulated from prior JT purchases, I was intending to spurge them all on the Northern Lights route when it comes out, but used about £3 worth to ease the strain on the old wallet.
Stuff I like about it:
[*] Good set of liveries right out of the box. Actually glad about the FWS & BB logos as I think that had licences been purchased, we would have had a more expensive product and I'd bet the filthy skin would have been missing. Companies don't tend to like their logos shown underneath a thick layer of dirt for some reason
[*] Lot's of stuff to fiddle with on the buttons and levers front. Particularly like the variable speed wipers as they seem to be properly variable.
[*] Sanding! It sounds silly I know, but I was dead chuffed to see sand actually being applied when I pressed X.
[*] Control state seems to be replicated better when switching from cab to cab. For example I noticed that if I had the DRA and headlights on in the cab and then switched ends, they were set the same way. Don't know how true to life that is, but I thought it was convenient. I've managed to confuse myself on other locos by forgetting to turn off stuff before swapping ends. To be fair, that's probably how it is in real life too.
[*] Brakes. I love them! Took a while to adjust to them but I found the trick (for me at least) was to ignore the F5 display and look at the dials instead, once I got used to that, I was a happy chappy.
[*] Train length. Although not strictly necessary as RW changes the current speed limit display to a higher value only when the last wagon has passed the speed sign. It's certainly going to be useful if you like to drive with no UI at all.
That's not a bad list for only an hours play.
Stuff I want to look into more:
[*] Slow speed control. I've not played with this yet, I'm interested in seeing how it behaves.
[*] Differences between Passenger and Goods mode, I feel a little test on the TestTrak is in order to see if there's a difference in the loco.
[*] Wheel slip, I haven't got the loco to slip yet, so I'm interested to see if the auto sanding kicks in at 8mph+.
Stuff I feel could be improved. This isn't meant to be negative, I truly like the loco and I hope it's constructive & helpful.
[*] Paint jobs. This could be a bit premature as I've not tried all the liveries yet, but the EWS one looks a little bit "flat". I'm leaving this point in, but I may redact it after I've tried the other liveries.
[*] Outside sound. While I think the sound in the cab is good, the sound in the external view, even while close to the loco seems a little quiet.
[*] Exhaust smoke is a bit light, I can barley see any except on engine start.
[*] Driving position feels a little low.
[*] While I love the brakes, I would have liked keyboard controls for full release and full breaking, so that the main and loco brake levers would stay in the full on or off positions. Say shift + ; form main release, shift + ' for main full on, shift + [ for loco release and shift + ] for loco full on.
In a way it's a testament to the model that I'm only finding little things I think could do with improvement
By the way, I don't feel qualified to comment on the accuracy of the physics but I may add another post it I turn up anything interesting.
So, I'm happy with my purchase and I'd recommend the loco to people who are in the market for a modern diesel.
I'm also secretly hoping that JT turn their attention to an "Advanced" version of the 66 too

Nice addon, but not will buy it.
In my opinion, at € 24.95 is overpriced...

Re: Just Trains Class 67
Well just bought the pack now, and well its fantastic! Packed with great features and I think well worth the price.
Just to pick up on a point Shadders made about the outside sound, it does seem very quiet compared to the internal view. Could this maybe be turned up as 67's are generally known for being loud in real life!
Also, my DSD doesnt seem to be working, I've read the manual and set up everything up correct (I get the DSD self test) but dont get any beeping when driving at all? I know from cab ride videos that the DSD goes off quite alot, (around every 45 seconds I think when nothing is touched). Has anyone else had trouble with this?
All in all great work from Just Trains,
Well done!
Tom

Only one problem not sure whether it is the advanced scripting but reloading a scenario sends everything bonkers? brakes on emergency, reverser back to neutral, you have to wait till the train comes to a standstill to re set everything!

Re: Just Trains Class 67
That's a fairly well known problem though Mart, not limited to this loco... in general it's not recommended to save and reload with the train in motion I don't think
Re: Just Trains Class 67
For those having problems with the DSD you can send an e-mail here - http://www.justtrains.net/supportreques ... ductID=292 - this has also been reported on the Just Trains Facebook page so it seems a few have this issue.
Re: Just Trains Class 67
I don't have the addon, but looking through this thread I'm impressed by the list of features that the 'advanced' range brings. By many accounts it seems that JT's incarnation of the 67 was certainly worth the wait; even though RSC got there first. I bought the RSC version and at this point in my life I can't justify buying JT's version as I've hardly driven the 67 I already have. The car carriers look excellent though... tempting... Perhaps I'll wait for a sale
I'm looking forward to the Advanced Class 153 now!

Aww, that's a shame.Darpor wrote:It's not their 66 though Shad.Shadders wrote:

Still, thanks for taking the time to let me know Darpor.
Kind regards,
Shad.

Thanks for taking the time to do that, Shadders, it's just the sort of insight I like to see, warts and all
Cheers, Rik.
Re: Just Trains Class 67
Hello again,
Just a quick update on a couple of points.
Shad.
*Edited to get bullet points working
Just a quick update on a couple of points.
- The paintwork does have a slight gloss (apart from the fithy one of course). It's just harder to see from certain angles.
- Slow speed, works well I think. Applies throttle until the desired 1/3/5 mph is reached and then cuts it. Rinse and repeat.
- Auto sanding. I set up a test with the loco and 26 loaded Oovee TEAs. I got going OK by taking it nice and steady and when I reached ~20mph at full throttle I got lot's of slip, not surprising with ~2600 tons hanging off the back. Happy to report that the auto sanding works nicely.
Shad.

Re: Just Trains Class 67
Hmm. Well, my 66s are fixed somewhat, but the fix seems to fall foul of the "works for 50% of testers" problem. The 60 isn't fixable, because it's missing a needle on the brake dial - we actually went looking for plans to make a new cab to get that and a few other buttons working, but that idea seems to have been dropped quietly atm. The idea is using the brake lever you adjust the red needle until it's at the pressure you want, and the white needle ( which is the train pipe pressure ) catches up with it. IIRC the 60 doesn't have a red needle.Wikkus wrote: Nice to hear that they're prototypical on this, definitely a significant plus point for me.

My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.

Re: Just Trains Class 67
I've just bought the 67 along with the Class 20 at the special offer of £5. I had some just rewards points from earlier purchases so the two combined came to £17. Not bad for two locos and three wagons: FNA, RHTT, IPA.
One thing I would like to know is where to find the manuals. I can't find them in the railworks\manuals folder.
