The only way round the engine running at start problem is saving the scenario start with the engine off then restarting from that save point making sure you save before all the messages start to flash up.

Hmm... the car carriers are a nice surprise although am I the only one who read "IPA" and instantly had a desire to crack open a beer?
Would be nice to see some objective comparisons between the RSC model and JT's long-awaited beastie.
Have to say that I feel that's going to be quite a task as, on paper, JT has already scored several million points based on features alone
But as I say, I'd like to see an objective comparison once the initial novelty and usual hysteria over shiny new things has worn off a bit.
Cheers, Rik.

I might get banned from JT if i give a bad comparison against the RS model, I think I'll keep my thoughts secret.......
Very nice looking and functioning models anyway, thanks to Simon and the crew.

I'm a Hen fan as well, but I would recommend that sir seek out Marston's Strong Pale Ale, available at Morrison's and all good ale merchants -- omnomnomnom... But, I digressTransportSteve wrote:Hmmm, don't like IPA Rik, much prefer Old Speckled Hen.......![]()
I think I already am, Steve, at least on FailbookI might get banned from JT if i give a bad comparison against the RS model, I think I'll keep my thoughts secret.......![]()
The thing is, with the obvious exception of you-know-who, surely UKTS is somewhere where we are able to discuss the various merits and characteristics of any model, warts and all, provided said feedback is, as I said, objective and not simply a whingefest or worse, that it degenerates into fanboi worship, etc.? Just saying like.
I'm genuinely tempted by this, but in the same way I'm quite tempted by Meshtools' latest offering. However, just as I already have a 2,700hp English Electric 16CSVT powered beastie in my collection (two, in fact...), I also own a Class 67 which is not in any way (to me) a bad model at all. In fact, I like it a lot. And a cold, hard fact is I don't have the disposable income I might have had in the past to splurge on prototypes that I already own models of

Oh well, I don't go on Farcebook, so have no probs on that score. you're better off on here with us anyway, matey.....
In a way we are all very fortunate to have duplicates of models, of good quality I hasten to add, but, to duplicate my purchases for everything would be a futile economic burden, such as you experience, I'm having to budget and can only afford what ever takes my fancy nowadays, Fastline Simulations are creating a car carrier at the moment, so, I'll hang on for a bit and read the rave reviews and look at screenshots before I take the plunge on anything in the future, and I daresay that the Christmas sales are being eyed keenly by most of us who want to take advantage of obtaining various items of content at more affordable prices.

Re: Just Trains Class 67
It certainly looks the business and there's some great features there to put it up with the 156, 150 and the Pete's 56xx. Just not sure I'd drive 2 of the things having bought 1. I would have thought a 66 with these features might have had more appeal.

Problem is Ben, if something has been in development for so long, money spent on research etc etc, you cannot just ditch it and move on to something else, you still have to release at some point. It's still nice to have variation though.bdy26 wrote:It certainly looks the business and there's some great features there to put it up with the 156, 150 and the Pete's 56xx. I can't get used to the bloomin Spring loaded break if using the Keyboard, I prefer using the keyboard over the mouse but oh well, Other than that lovely model, Shame i can't get the best out of the TS12 features it has but if i want a descent frame rate on routes I drive its a compromise i have to live with
Great that the RHTT is fully compatible with it though, so a huge thanks for doing so,
Kind Regards,

Does anyone know if the 'passenger/goods' switch does anything? Or is it just for show?

Re: Just Trains Class 67
JT's 67 is by far considerably ahead of RSCs, but thats to be expected with it being a debut for a new "Advanced series" by JT, from a objective point of view its down to the users preferences on what they wish to drive. RSCs version I would consider plug and play, its one for new users who wish to just have to locomotive to fill out there modern diesel collection and just want to play the scenarios, while JTs 67 is for a user who may be a 67 driver or does want more protypical modern day features and want to do everything by the book, which is what JTs 67 allows you to do.
I'd make light to the fact JT's sister site, Just Flight already has a similar range in the captain and professional series of aircraft and they are quite popular even with said aircrafts being available in a basic form aswell. Its pretty much just down to the users choice they can have either or.
To the actual package, its wonderful to drive and personally having all the little features gives it alot of experience for example when starting up JTs 67 burns off excess fuel, in the cab you have to put in the master key which then sounds the AWS warning. Moving the reverser sounds the warning to and you can do the radio check. You also got the multi-strength cab lights with instrutment panels and both DRM and train length systems for passenger/freight operation respectively. If you don't touch any of the controls for awhile the secondary warning system sounds to remind you aswell. All this brings it to life and your getting the full driving experience, plus ontop it has rain on window and new lights so you have to full TS2012 experience with all modern features in this pack.
£19.99 may seem alot, but to be honest I think its right for what the package is, its utterly packed full of prototypical features(which work aswell), its got a accurate soundset and braking plus acceleration seems to be quite correct (they did goto Crewe I believe to speak with drivers about all that), you also got the new freight rolling stock which is incredibly high detailed and JT has added compatibility with the track cleaners from the 20 collection, plus you got all the liveries which the 67 carries ontop and well the Flight sim version of this series is priced in similar area or higher so I'm not particularly surprised either.
Its a choice in the end, you can have both, one or the other or none at all, but I would certainly feel your geting what you paid for with this package. I also believe the price is fair when you consider research and how difficult it is to get onto trains and get accurate information these days, especially when everything is tight lipped and under lock and key security wise.
@wynnetom440: I believe it does effect its speed, but that could be my head playing up, it might be just similar to the RSC one, JT would have to confirm it for us.

It should change the maximum permitted speed; at least that's what it does on the RSC modelwynnetom440 wrote:Does anyone know if the 'passenger/goods' switch does anything? Or is it just for show?

Nice review!
Right okay, wouldn't matter if it didnt work to be honest!
Dont suppose you've noticed if the Green/Red LED's on the speedo change to correspond to Passenger/Freight mode, similar to what happens on the RSC model?

Re: Just Trains Class 67
All seems good then, although I have to say I find the price a little exorbitant.
Nonetheless, can anyone who has this add-on clarify whether or not there is a realistic delay to throttle response (someone suggested the preview video showed it to be default instant), and whether it has day/night headlamp operation? (All JT screenshots only show it with the day headlamp on...)

Re: Just Trains Class 67
It should turn the ETH off ( which would probably give a bit more available power ) and change the timings on the brakes, if you're doing it properly. Doable, but a big job and I'm not entirely sure if it's doable reliably. I have certainly done the brake part, but it seems to work perfectly for 50% of the people I get to try it, and the other 50% can't get the brakes off because the handle won't stay put.FoggyMorning wrote:It should change the maximum permitted speed; at least that's what it does on the RSC modelwynnetom440 wrote:Does anyone know if the 'passenger/goods' switch does anything? The brakes on these, the 66, the 60 and the 58 all work the same: push forwards and you add a bit of brake until you let go, then it goes back to centre and the brakes stay at that level. Pull back and you remove brake until you let go again. Unfortunately until now only the 58 did it properly, and the 60 got halfway ( the rate you can add/remove brakes on the real jobs is fixed, not proportional like the 60 is atm ), so I can see how people need to get used to how they work.
My posts are my opinion, and should be read as such.
