Poll: What Steam Locomotive(s) Do You Most Want Sounds For?

Hi All.

Once I've finished with the King I've no idea what to do next!! There's so so many possibilities! :o

So I'll use this poll as a guide to what would be most popular. If you have any sounds from video or straight audio of your preferred loco(s) then please supply it! A lot of loco's in the poll I've struggled to track down decent recordings. If there's video on youtube that you think would work, perhaps you contact the owner of said video and ask permission on my behalf to use the audio?!

I've left off the list the Ivatt 2MT because Edward Fisk had made a great sound set already. Also the Jubilee and 4F because I've just released them. Any other missing though? Name them and I'll mention why, or realise I forgot it!

Any thoughts then please share below. But...........................

There are 2 locomotives in the list that deserve to be included in this poll(you know which ones I mean) but please refrain from commenting about them! If you have any thoughts on those them PM me!

Finally, you have two votes, so use them wisely.

Regards

Matt(92212)

*Sounds already produced but I know I can do soooooo much better!

At this time I don't have any decent sounds for any of the above really. Not good quality anyway! Any sound sets I've produced up 'til now have been patch up jobs! I think it's time to up the quality a bit! But I live on the Isle of Wight, so, going out to get recordings is near impossible. So I'm relying on video and sounds from steamsounds.org.uk. But Dave's sounds loose their quality once they've been re-sampled for RW use! So I can't name a specific loco, but I'll go on the hunt for the most popular ones in this poll!

Cheers

Anything!

Then again upgrades to the stock trains will benefit the most people. I am right in thinking there is a Black5 sound pack 2 in the works?

Well most of those are payware locos that I don't have, so I'll stick with the freeware and suggest the 3F and 7F.

You pulled off a lovely 3F soundset with 47406 which noticeably used some of my stuff from 47327, and I'd love to be able to use a similar set in the other 3Fs (used plenty on my challenge route).

I have clips of the blue 7F 88 on my laptop.

Sorry to bring this up but doesn't it depend on the locos you are allowed to release a new soundset for (I am not just talking about the obvious ones, there are others such as Flying Scotsman and Tornado)

Just been trying the 4F sounds which are superb. Have voted but anything like these would be brilliant.

Thanks for that Adam. But as far as i'm aware, there's no reason why I shouldn't release sounds for any payware locomotive. The loco's .bin files are modified and included, but there's nothing wrong with that. Anyway, interesting results so far!

Are you sure there's nothing wrong with that? Does the license for the payware, or freeware for that matter, you're distributing modified files for permit that? If I were you I'd ask the producer for a copy of the license, if you don't already have one, and check it carefully. Some seem not to include copies with the download and don't seem to provide access to them on their websites either, but in law that may not be an excuse for breaking the terms of the license.
