Class 50 Annoucement

Hey all,

Just thought I'd make an announcement thread. I hope everyone is enjoying the class 150! It looks excellent but I must resist the temptation and finish all my work! To do pile is growing!! If you haven't seen already the 50 is planned to be released on the 10th...7 Days.

As something that started off rather small, it changed into a somewhat time consuming, lengthy project for me and those involved. When I first started I was hoping for a release in July....Well that didn't happen. And here we are now with something that I'm very pleased about and I'm sure those who are interested will be too!

There were a few comments from original buyers about not being able to get some sort of discount. This is effectively is a new add-on. However we've come up with something special and managed to do a compromise. I won't go into details just yet. But I hope it's satisfactory.

I'd personally like to thank those who got involved as well as testers and those in the community for throwing around ideas, suggestions and things that aren't right. Also RSC helping me with a steam release and additional testing.

I'll post some more details as we get closer to the release.

Here are a selection of photos uploaded kindly by RSC, there on Facebook. However they should be viewable for all. :)

Cheers,
Mike

Looks brilliant Mike, look forward to it. Whatever you have in mind for us existing owners I think it will be a fair one knowing your good customer relations. :)

Mike, firstly can I say that it's a great model and how your skills have improved since the days of Trainz :)

Secondly, if you can say - is the folder structure totally different? If these install over the 'Current' version then I think the 'Vocal' members might approve far more of this new release, as this really seems to be the only gripe. Of course as you're aware the benefit of having the same folder structure means that scenarios will still work no matter how long ago they were made and you don't have to worry about stating you require "x" version which installed "here", so more newbie friendly. :)

I second all the above comments. I'd be happy to re-buy the product if I had to, as long as I know I'm supporting you and your wonderful additions to RW.

I know I asked this before but since it's considered a completely new model, will this overwrite the old one?

Ahh Trainz. I check now and then and see Class 50-Mk1 is still being used....Yes this is the 3rd time I've built one of these. :)

The folder structure is the same. The plan was to make it easier for users to use, so they don't have to go about changing everything. Unless it's a completely different model. I'm pretty sure the scenarios are backwards compatible as well. Also if not purchased steam won't try and delete the original version.

Mike, that's brilliant news that the folder structure's been kept the same. Thanks for thinking of us scenario creators :).

They'll have the choice of either buying what is essentially a completely new model that's vastly superior to Mike's older one and has had a great deal of time and trouble spent getting it spot-on, or not buying it and keeping their original model.

We've managed to get 33% off for the first week. As a kind gesture for those who owned the original copy. It was the best we could do. My thanks goes out too RSC for helping me out with the release.

It's out now:
