This is an excellent model and I love the detail work. The graphics are top-drawer throughout the whole model and the cab detail is lovely. Looking forwards to running this one a lot! Thanks also for the discounted price- much appreciated 8)

Kind regards,
Dave

Tis a very nice release, packed full of features which are not overbearing or annoying and bring realism to the locomotive. Model quality is very good and lots of detail on the paintjobs, they have a "working life" feel to the paintwork, like for example fluid which has dripped down from the grills on the body sides ans dirt on the roof and window edges. Plus you have the full range of liveries and some specials to so plenty of scope for scenario creators.

Sound, now this is always a touche subject for DLC and gets alot of critism, the recent releases of the 57, 156 and most recent of all the 150/2 have started to raise the bar of immersion factor when it comes down the diesels, especially in the cabs, MT's 50 is no exception to this and he sure wasn't kidding when he set he maxed out the sound code to get it all in. The engine sounds are a 50 and then some, its subtle also different to whats already available out there as soundsets, Mike's 50 certainly sounds, but not in the bad way, its robust, is gnarly, its a beast caged and ready to let loose and you certainly get that in the cab aswell as outside.

Further to the sound is well pitched and synced up right with motion aswell as interaction oft he throttle, rev up and rev down is very smooth, heck the rev up is practically monsterous and to take a word from another poster is certainly "hellfire" when it gets up to 60mph+, its also a great feature that the windows moved up and down effect how the engine sounds in the cab, its subdued in the cab, but not to a extent it feels weak, you still can hear all the growl of the 50 but muffled in a way which would sound right in a cab, but hell, you put that window down and you got full engine roar, so very well done there.

This is a worthwhile pack to get if you love BR blue and the 50 in general, I'm a pre-existing owner of the old 50 MT released and for £8.03 I feel honestly like I'm robbing Mike of money for all what is included and been done, its worth every penny and with what else is out there its another high quality diesel added to the fleet and certainly now mainstream and available to everyone within easy access.

So if my wall of text hasn't convinced you to throw cash at the monitor, I don't know what else will. :O

I've just purchased the Class 50 and taken a quick run - WOW, an absolute stunner. Thanks for this gem and at the discounted price it's got to be a bargain in anybodys language.

My wallet is now £8.03 lighter, I wasn't going to buy it as I had the original, but with the discount it felt rude to refuse and I'm glad I did, the original was good but the new on is excellent, I feel like a naughty child who's just helped his self to the sweetie jar!

In all the pictures of the '50' posted to date, the windows let into the side of the engine compartment are displaying as white panels. Do these disappear, or become transparent, when the loco is loaded into RW3?

Likewise I wasn't going to bother buying this in view of 'other developments in the class' but I'm sold on the praise that the sound has been getting. I'm a sucker for good, realistic, accurate sounds and will gladly push the boat out for a major sound upgrade.

Will be buying this tonight whilst Mrs Jimmy is out!

Ditto here, the initial reports confirm it is much improved on the previous version. Always partial to a noisy "Log".

It's also by way of a thank you to Mike as well for his collaboration with Blackpool and a gesture of regret for my unjustified ranting in another thread the other week.

Looking forward to sparking this up later, although Skyrim also arrived today which may prove to be a bit of a distraction!

The model looks great, and seems like everyone's raving about the sounds, but how are the physics? Does it have realistic, gradual deployment of power as the revs rise and fall? Appropriate cruising speeds on partial throttle, etc?
