Sorry to sound flippant, Vern, but, surely the end-user should know if he's purchased any payware routes, or, not, it shouldn't take an installer to determine that.

I quite agree with you on your thoughts though, I know that RS.com probably wouldn't create any scenarios for other 3rd party routes that we purchase separately, from say, Just Trains, or, Thomsons, as that could be deemed advertising for us to go and buy their products instead, if you see where I'm going, but, I don't know why our plethora of scenario creators on here haven't submitted scenarios through the UKTS libraries for all of the routes we have now, maybe they are still working on them. I have noticed a marked increase in the number of Payware scenario packs springing up all over the place, which I personally probably won't obtain for a number of reasons.

The great thing about having what in essence is a virtual railway system at your fingertips is being able to do things that maybe wouldn't normally happen in the real world.

Does anyone else have difficulties with the Early Start Port Road scenario that is available here for download? Although it is stated that no extra stock is required, I am getting a consist builder message that Class 08 is missing.

Well we need to consider those not so technically minded, I guess.

Bottom line is, it's probably time there were some additions to the core routes in the sim, which would give the rolling stock authors a bit more variety than just going from Padd to Oxford, again.

As regards setting up freeware scenarios for the latest add-ons, I started one for the Class 50 on E-G last night but I got so bored trying to set things up, I went off to play Skyrim instead.

This scenario needs the Class 08, Class 101 and DT Mk1s.

That scenario was included with the loco for me and it does state on the information page that it requires the 08, class 101 dmu and the DT Mk 1s, you could try swapping what yo don't have with RWtools.

I think the 101 and the 08 are required from memory. I think the 08 was a static consist so you could delete with RW tools, or edit the scenario and save twice and RW3 will remove it automatically for you.

I'm going to replace the stock when I get time to do it, then I'll re-upload it. Sorry for the problems! I didn't realise these things were included, I thought the Mk1's were the default ones. My bad!

Cheers,

As the mentioned scenario is one included with the Class 50 package on Steam, it'd be better to send it to RS.com for updating via Steam, I'd think?

Beautiful model, lovely sound, great exhaust, what more can one say.

Don't know how accurate any of it is but that's not the factor for me anyway, for me it's about the beauty and this one really hits the spot.

bdy26,

thank you, saving twice did the trick. Beautiful scenario, now that it works!

Yes, but only for returning them to the WR after refurbisment, and before hand.
The odd one or two made it to kings Cross as well.

As a postscript to my attempt to set up an E-G scenario, I resumed the work I'd already done with Class 50 and 6 or 7 Mark Ones plus one of Mikes Class 24's on the back. This was so I could do a return trip but on the way back from Edinburgh have the 24 haul the train to Larbert (reverse) then back in the 50 again. Unfortunately despite the player train being the only one on the network, I got an error message about a conflict with an orphaned (I think) consist. On going to exit the scenario via the play arrow it went SBHH on me. Just trying to go back in now to check the error message and see if I could correct it and the scenario goes SBHH during loading. Delete and try again, or fire up Skyrim. Oh dear, that's a tough one...(where's my armour...).

However for those who ask where the indie scenarios are for such add-ons, the above may provide an insight as to why there are so few. It's just a good job I hadn't spent too much time on the scenario up to that point.
