To be fair this is a conversion from MSTS - I didn't build this right now. Although now I'm getting to the shallower part of the learning curve I'm going to start re-working this model to have higher resolution textures etc.

I know the original well, and this is a very good likeness... See here for some images The first image in particular looks extremely much like the images Chris has been showing us, with the only difference being in the colour

The design of these beasties comes from the USA and dates from the 50s. They have been in regular service until 2003. Some members of the class are still in use on rail inspection trains, and some members survive in preservation.

They're not my favourites of Dutch trains (that would be classes 2400 & 1200 and the EMU 'Hondekop'), but they're an essential piece of post-war Dutch railway history.

I started with this one as it's quite a compact loco and fairly easy to update. I have a large back catalogue of trains from MSTS and the Plan U, T and V are there as well as the Mat'54.
We'll see what happens.

Very nice Chris, it's always good to see a bit of variety coming to Railworks. I still remember downloading your Eurostar over a dial-up connection back in the day, I couldn't begin to count the hours I spent driving it up and down the LGV Med route.

As a sidenote I would like to add that some of the Dutch railstock have either a direct/indirect connection with either America / UK and other foreign countries.

For exampe this class 2200, as noted earlier in this thread, is a design from Baldwin (US).

Dutch class NS 1500, operated in the netherlands between year 1972 - 1986, is a locomotive from the UK.
In the UK they were Class EM2 (Manchester - Sheffield) and had numbering (BR 27000 - 27006).
The BR 27001 Ariadne (NS class 1505) has been restored to its original livery and is preserved at the Manchester Museum of Science and Industry.

NS class 1200 (Electric), operated between the year 1952 - 1998, is designed by Baldwin/Westinghouse (US), but mostly build in The Netherlands.

The TS2012 DLC pack "BD Class E18" has driven in The Netherlands as well.
In Holland they were known as NS Class 1000 and were a design from a Swiss factory in Zürich, Switzerland.
Some of them were build in Switzerland but most were build in Holland under license in the city Utrecht in Holland by the company "Werkspoor"
Operated in Holland between the years 1948 - 1984.

The dutch word "Werkspoor". If you literally translate it into english it actually says Railworks ! (Werk = Work. Spoor = Rail or Railway).

Anyway, I just gave a very very quick and very brief overview.
But I thought would be nice extra info for the many US or UK members/visitors in this forum, if the information wasn't already known of course.

As a fellow Dutchman I've to correct you regarding the NS1000. This class has nothing to do with the German E18, the NS 1000 has been derived from the Swiss type Ae 4/6:

Only the form of the NS1000 is reminiscent to the E18, e.g. the rounded cabins and the wheels arrangement, but a E18 could never have been driven in the Netherlands because of the overhead electrical system: in Holland 1500 V DC and in Germany 15.000 V AC (16 2/3 Hz!).
