Hi all, is the class 455 worth purchasing? how does it compare to the real thing?
Also, does it have the correct notches for power and steps for braking?
Thanks.

It's a lovely model and yes it has Westcode 3-step brakes. It doesn't have camshaft control simulation at present though.

One of the best trains out! Just sad that it hasn't got a passenger-view. But no trains have that anymore

Not strictly true MickeL. The majority yes, but not all.

It's a fantastic little train, one of the few EMUs I enjoy taking for a drive, along with the CIG and David Brindley's representations.

I'm slowly working on integrating Dave's version and this one - using the Thompson cab & sounds, and heavily modified physics from Dave's ( thanks nukem for a ton of useful info! ) for both so they're totally interoperable, but it will be a while. In the meantime both are worth the price of admission indeed.

This is a dilema i have too. On thing i did notice it comes with just a few scenarios. I dont consider Free Roams to be a scenario.

There is a scenario pack available for the Class 455 over at Just Trains developed by us (CrossCity Trains).
Thanks

I just bought this. The sounds are fantastic and the performance feels like the real thing. Unfortunately, scenarios are half-baked, meaning they didn't bother putting in realistic timings. Such a shame because driving this thing is simply fantastic.
I have a problem though - when I tried to create my own consist for a free roam in the editor, the TSO carriage is nowhere to be found. I have clicked the blue box and ticked Thomson's 455 pack.
According to the page in the steam store, this addon is supposed to include:
Class 455 4-car train (DTSO/MSO/TSO vehicles)

It's a trailer, so it's a carriage.

Thanks, found it. The Class 450 and the SEC didn't make this distinction so all the Ms and Ts were in the same list.

yes as bizarrely RSC have made each Carriage on the 450 a Motor coach.
