Atomic Systems

Hi All, would it be possible to have whiter snow textures on the windscreen? When it snows it just has the same effect as rain but surely the snow drops should be whiter and actually block your view until you use the wiper? Could one of you clever people do that? I would try but I don't have a clue. Just an idea.

I suspect it may well be hard coded into the game and so not possible for us mere mortals to implement. Nice idea though, but we're only just working out how to implement the rain on existing models. Drop RSC an email - they have hinted previously that the more suggestions they get about something the more likely they are to look at it.

I too had hoped that the snow effects would be different to those for rain. I'd been looking forward to driving in a blizzard and having snow build up around the windscreen so that the only part you could see through was where the wiper cleared. I suppose for now the rain effect is better than nothing, I just have to pretend that my cab is so warm the snow melts the instant it lands. Of course, when driving a drafty 47 in the depths of winter, that simply isn't true!

I remember watching that, and can also relate to a personal experience of a 91 struggling with the snow.
Returning from London on one Winter's evening had a good run as far as just South of Doncaster where we were held at signals for 15 minutes or so.
Soon after leaving Doncaster, the snow came down, ( flakes as big as dinner plates, ) after Wakefield the train slowed to a crawl and finally stopped
and made very little progress for the next stage on to Leeds, ( if I remember correctly, Wakefield to Leeds took a further 60 minutes with wheelslip being reported as the problem )
Good job I had my car at Leeds as it was then way too late to catch a bus home.

Yep, it was that very program I was thinking of when I wrote the above.
