TSX or Legacy Which do you prefer?

There is no doubt there are some nice features in RW 3 under TSX as opposed to legacy operation. But, performance issues aside, am I alone in feeling that the colour and shadow mix is better in legacy. At present I tend to use legacy for brighter days and TSX for dismal and wet.
What do you guys think?

TSX all the way for me. I just think it makes everything look more realistic.

PS By the way, that is my opinion, I don't expect everbody to share it.

I completely disagree with you, it's TSX all the way for me, especially when full shadows are active, you can really feel the atmosphere on some routes.

Hold on, I did agree with you!

Running with TSX off for the most part. Still need to do some tweaking to get TSX running well on my machine. Either way though it is a considerable improvement over what was on offer in RW2

Sorry my sense of humor seems to have taken the day off today.

I have to admit, at the low in game settings I run at, performance wise they are both pretty much the same. I find Legacy mode is basically TSX mode without added rain drops on windows, headlights and different colour distant terrain.

TSX it is for me.

TSX for what I feel is the extra immersion... and really liking the extras (e.g., shadows, nicer water in the rivers/lakes/streams, and the weather of course) on the non-tweaked routes like Ohio Steel. Looking foward to the re-worked versions of the dlc locos that have collected (mainly the Canadian bits, and the UK steam which I adore).

Kind regards,
Dave

Though I still think RW3 could be better optimized, after a bit of tweaking of various settings to find a good balance of Performance and Visual-quailty, I now prefer TSX mode on. I really like some of the new lighting and weather effects with some scenarios. The Cab-sway effect introduced with RW3 is really neat too.

Haven't even tried legacy so TSX all the way for me too.
If they could only let us use driver-level AA things would really be rosy. :)

Like rabid, haven't tried Legacy mode at all, since TSX works fine with some fiddling with settings.

Love the mode though, just makes me think what a difference mods do to Fallout 3 & New vegas with new higher quality textures.

I like to say yes to TSX, IF we can enjoy the game in full glory... one day.

Sometimes, Legacy Mode is the only way to get acceptable performance on a given route using some given hardware (of which I own a very wide variety). Then it is invaluable.

However, I definitely prefer TSX mode. There are still some glitches and performance problems, but they are largely manageable on a fairly new PC...

...except on NEC, which I still haven't found an acceptable solution for, even with a brand-new, high-end PC which I built only a week ago. The mind doth boggle as to what kind of monster RSC tested that on. Regardless of hardware, Legacy Mode is currently the way to go for that route.

Phil, if you have nothing constructive to say, don't say it. If you have a problem then start a thread outlining your issues and other members will try to help you out.

I'm very new round here but it was the new TSX setting that made me get back into this hobby. Im running on quite an old gaming rig with a GTX 275 for graphics and get between 15-30 fps (capped at 30) which i find acceptable but not great with most settings on high or highest including shadows. I get occasional stutters coming into cities but my HD is over 5 years old and very full so no complaints. Hopefully when i can get a new rig a nice solid state HD will help load items in faster. I'm slowly collecting DLC and enjoying it very much. I did briefly try without TSX but felt the world very flat and lifeless so am very much sticking with TSX.
